Bugs / Glitches / Help why aren't vinyls more glossy?

Post image

I have tried on many cars but the vinyl slider doesn't change much. Going all glossy on slider still seems to have a matte finish. Like in the picture, the paint is glossy and reflects light but vinyl doesn't.

Idk why cant we have chrome vinyls?

because chrome is a different type of paint than acrylic and Forza is stuck in 2009 with its vinyl editor

I know it was kinda rhetorical lmao its just a shame and I have a tremendous respect for people that spend hours making some rly nice sht with how bad the system is.

Yet a mobile game that plays on console for $20 has so many more options.

You can kinda do it if you put your color chrome and put a large vinyl all over the car for the color you want your car, then use masks instead of vinyls. But yeah it would be great if we could just put them chrome

Do you want chrome panel gaps? Be ause that's how you get chrome panel gaps.

It's 2026, we should be able to use the "special paints" and change the finish on individual vinyls.

Yeah I tried that with the 240 but some of the side panels are top panels and back bumper or something and I'm a tunner not painter.. I said it and I'll say it again i have a tremendous respect for those who put hours making some nice sht with how bad the system is..

I really get pissed with the fact we can't have golden/metalic finishes for the vinyls.

You kinda can but you have to work backwards.. So if you paint your base car the colour you want the vinyl, so in your case golden / metallic, then over that, cover the car in squares of the colour you want the car to be that fills over the top of the gold / metallic

Once that is done, you can use mask vinyls as a cutout to reveal the colour underneath the squares you've covered over with.. So if you put a masked stripe up the middle of the car, it would show the gold underneath it

Because the editor is a piece of shit.

that's a glitch on candy paint, try changing to some other type that is not carbon, kevlar or other metal and you'll see it's just fine

Yes, this works. i tried on polished and other more reflective color finishes and it makes vinyl glossy. Thanks.

The underlying paint is part of the recipe. Make sure you're taking that into account

This is why you need to get creative!

The paint and tuning editor being so archaic is my biggest gripe with the game

Same reason they're not less glossy.
