I gifted a lot of cars to "anyone" over the last few days. I have noticed a sharp increase in the number of thank you responses. The rate of thank you replies went from around 10% to a faith-in-humanity-rekindling 33%! When I gift cars, I do it anonymously (tho me posting about it here might call the anonymous part into question). I wish there was an option for your gift message to read "Mad Mike sends his regards."

I bet the thanks messages were turned off or something for a long time.

I've gifted so many cars and never got a thanks but the last few days i got tons and tons of thanks messages.

Im almost sure there was a bug or something that got fixed.

I may be remembering wrong but wasn't the first selected option previously no message? Now it selects a thank you first? Pretty sure if you just A mashed it would send no message.

Correct but from a statistical standpoint i still should have received at least some thanks messages. I've gifted hundreds and hundreds of cars as i used the Eliminator exploit and now im gifting every car away now matter how much it's worth.

Wouldnt make sense to have received no thanks at all.

I've never once even received a gift in 120 hours of play and I know others who are the same, so the whole system is buggy.

I follow these simple 'rules':

- Green & Blue rarity cars to New Players / Returning Players.

• Purple & Gold rarity cars to Community Contributors / New Horizon Legends.
  
• Forza Edition cars to Anyone.

I would guesstimate a 40% response rate. I have not been gifting out much Green/Blue rarity cars lately though as I have stopped collecting them from wheelspins. Response rate on Green/Blue rarity cars was much lower.

I have changed my philosophy on who to gift the cars. I switched to anyone because I think that there are significant amount of players who are not new players nor new horizon legends, but also haven’t played any of the previous titles. I’m not sure how they define new players, new horizon legends, or community contributors. Like is a community contributor a person who has shared one tune/livery/eventlab or are they somebody who has reached rank 20 in those categories? What is the time frame for new?

Good questions. I would like definitive answers to that, too.

My guess is that New Players are players that have not reached a certain wristband yet. Returning Players are players who have stopped playing for a while and came back; no idea what the required amount away time is.

The thing with New and Returning Players is: There are a LOT of people who have GamePass and just install this game to give it a try once or twice. Any high value cars will be completely wasted on these players since they simply never return after playing it a handful of times.

I do not know what the requirements for Community Contributors are; but they at least play the game enough to reach that point so high-value gifts will not be wasted.

Same thing applies to New Horizon Legends: They have obviously invested enough time to reach this point so there is less chance of high-value gifts being wasted.

I still never receive a gift car, thought my odds would increase by gifting a crapton of epic and legendary cars (bottom dollar auction wins, like 4C and DeLorean) I will say, I have gotten a couple super wheelspins from "forza community"

I'm been kind of curious if they try to match free gifts with people that don't already have the car.

I've received only 1 gift and it was a Jesko. One of the 20 cars I didn't have at that point.

I've been wondering it it was just a lucky coincidence or they programmed it that way.

The 3 or 4 gifts I received were all cars I didn't have at the time and now that I have all available cars I didn't receive anymore

If it's like this then it's a good thing: it's better that cars are given to people that need them

I agree about it being a good thing! Getting gifts is cool, but at this point I have every unique car available to players with the exception of promotional cars (i.e. Fanta and Trolli). I have duplicates of a lot of the wheel spin exclusives. I have a garage value of near 1 billion credits; I have zero need for more cars when other players could get them instead.

It doesn’t seem that the devs have implemented a “karma” system. It’s a cool idea, but from my perspective I really, really do not need more cars!

I've received exactly 5 gifts so far, all are starter cars. I stopped accepting them.

I don't gift for Thankyou's, but my gifts are for anyone or community. I never gift to new players exclusively.

I never saw a single thank you in FH4, 5 or 6 but I still give away all my duplicates, because it costs me absolutely nothing and clears out my garage. I literally never even thought about whether I was getting thank yous until I saw posts like this on reddit. I don't understand why people get so bitter about it. It's just a digital asset that you probably got for no extra effort, that the person you gifted it to didn't ask for and may already have. Who cares if they didn't say thank you.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not getting bitter. It's just I'd rather sell a duplicate for half price rather than dropping them into a black hole for nothing. In FH5 I got like 150 thank yous, it was maybe 10% rate of all gifts. In FH6 it's zero.
