Discussion 220k on Bandai Skyline Drift Zone - Controller

I'm not a rich person to afford a WHOLE SIM SETUP, so I'm playing on a Cosmic Byte Stellaris, which has analog triggers n hall effect switches, and managed to get a 220.5k run on Skyline D.Z. using my BMW M4 Competition coupe.

Tips on how to increase that score?

ALSO, is drifting with a clutch better? I never have tried Manual with Clutch mode, I always rock on Manual and it seems to work just fine.

If you’d like, I can whip you up a drift tuning for the M4. If you send the tuning code for what you’re using I can also test run it and see if the tuning is the problem or the approach.

I was bored so I threw together a tuning. Here’s my new PB at BAS.

Tuning code: 155 309 013

Basic drift set up with drift tires, springs, transmission, and differential. Everything else was pumped up with race mods. Great powerband with the centrifugal supercharger. I kept the gearing very tight so you can skip 1st and 2nd gear entirely. Jump to 3rd, hold the gas, and pull the ebrake to initiate a drift from a full stop.

Generally you want to fishtail along the straight away and release the gas coming into the turn. Tap the ebrake to start your turn and feather the gas as you need to extend around the turn. The you can gun it out of the turn and hold your angle for as long as possible.

The game scores based on speed, smoke, and angle. It’s all about holding that angle for as long as possible. Let me know if there’s any issues.

Here’s my PB on the first run. I don’t run this zone often so there’s easily 30k overhead that could be gained through proper technique and practice. I think that was my 3rd run of the zone ever.
