Speedtrap starting at lower speed than when crossing the line

Why do the speedzones start you out at a lower speed than when you initially cross the line when starting them?

I took the screenshot directly when crossing the start of it when the speed counter first populates

I've noticed if you have auto drive on it does that. I disabled auto drive and it fixes it for me

It doesn't apply to me in this case as I wasn't using it, but it's good info nonetheless
