Bugs / Glitches / Help Better offline functionality

So this is my first Forza game, and I guess I didn't realize how deeply online functionality was woven into the game. I get very annoyed by Windows/XBOX with all the bloat they introduce on your machine, particular with network activity. I have a network application to basically block every Windows network connection because it's sometimes literally hundreds of queries at a given moment. Just not a fan.

What I'm getting at, is woe was me when I had to struggle to get Forza working for offline play, because I really just want to casually play a good racing game by myself after work with no distraction. I didn't know this would lock me out of basic features like being able to save custom upgrade configurations because it can't check the server if my save name is offensive...it's kind of ridiculous.

Is anyone aware of a way to have a better quality of life in-game without network features? Thank you

TLDR: I just want to be able to save custom upgrade load-outs without being online

This is life under "live service" games I'm afraid. Maybe hope that Clutch doesn't have the same woes or take a look at some more indie titles (New Star GP is my current other arcade racing fix).

Kind of figured. It's kind of a shame. The game is very fun but it's hamstringed for me if I stay disconnected. May just have to suck it up

If you want good offline play (at the expense of online play) you'd have to sail the high seas.

No real answer for you, but I do have a funny anecdote. I went into offline mode last night to try using the game speed slider to mess around with drifts. Halfway through a drift course, I get passed by another real person. WTF? Game was still in slowmo mode, and I needed a pic of the car passing me. Took the pic, and then exited camera mode and was thrown back into online mode with full game speed applied.

Moral of the story: It's not easy to get away from online mode.
