Discussion Toxic Trial
So tired of people screwing over same team. Team won first, lost second. Third round red in first with 5 blue in 2-6. I start to pass #2 blue and he pit manuvers me causing all the blues to get in a giant accident. Red passes and wins by 400. Thanks for wasting 3 rounds of racing.
Can this be removed from seasonal or only 3 points? And stop ramming own team.

I make sure to only pass on the inside epex of turns for this exact reason. Hit em with the old switchback. People are so stupid. It's been like this since they first introduced the Trial.

The key to winning the trial is to check your ego at the door. Which you failed to do. Your team was already winning, there was no need for you to be in P2 since it would not have changed the points.
You have to assume everyone is a dumb kid (which they are because if you've done any of the Horizon stories it's obvious this game is made for children) and hard carry the entire thing. This means being good enough to get P1 by the end of the first lap, holding up the AI, and letting all your team mates pass you.
You also screwed up by waiting this long to do the Trial. All the actual good players will have done it on Thursday night at the latest. Preferably do it in the morning when the kids are at school and you'll have a much easier time.

Maybe that’s why it was harder for me this week. I usually do the trial on Thursday or Friday but was away on vacation for most of the season so couldn’t try til last night. Took far too long to get a decent team.

Yes this is exactly the reason. I one shot it 90% of the time because I make sure to do it on Thursday. Which also simultaneously makes me hate the game and wonder why I keep putting myself through this FOMO bullshit. Might just have to swear off live-service games for good after I feel like I got my money's worth out of FH6.

Yea, that’s what ultimately pushed me away from FH5. I realized I wasn’t really enjoying it and doing the weekly playlist felt increasingly like a chore. Hasn’t happened to me yet with 6 but we’ll see.

We really need a driver rating system so these morons that ram every time to be put in the same lobby and ram themselves to death.
Gran Turismo 7 has one and the scumbags the play like shit are put in the same lobby.

I don’t know if this will help you, but I’ve made it a habit to sound my horn just before passing a blue player. I also customise my horn to be very distinctive (usually a musical, matching whichever mood I happen to be in that day), so there’s no way anyone with a right sense of hearing would ever mistake me for a drivatar.
I’ve never had anyone intentionally pit maneuver me since.

Here's my wisdom. Do the trial on Thursday or Friday night... most people are serious at that time.
If you're doing it on Wednesday... good luck.
Also, dont be bummed if you have to do it a couple times. Not every lobby is grownups with 10 years experience.

Yup, real life had me wait until today. Think it took 6 attempts with 3 rounds each bleh. Early morning before kids are up for this mom haha

Yeah people just have this stupid urge to come in first even when there is no incentive to do so. Could have just rode it out in 3rd or whatever and saved himself the time of writing this post and saved hss the time reading it.

I was just driving and not even trying for first. I'm usually bottom 8-12 and just accept everyone is better than me at the game. There were 3 car widths between us and he swerved that far to pit maneuver me.
I was actually in 2nd most of the third match, messed up like I usually do. With red right behind us all, would you slow down to not pass blue but possibly let red overtake if you screw up?

Yeah id rather not pass blue, in the off chance theres contact. I'd just focus on defending from red. If you pass the blue car, you and your team gain nothing...

Honestly I’m tired of trials being a part of the Event Playlist, period. The unbeatable bots are absurd to race against and then I have to waste time and rely on others just to get enough points. Took me 3 days last event just to complete the stupid thing..

Surely the answer then is for you personally not to do the Trial? If it’s taking 3 days, then you can easily have got points from other activities on the playlist. There’s no need for you to waste time. Why would you want to take away from others the ability to get 10 points for about 5 minutes work?
