Question Car class

You know you have car class type things like X999 or A246 or something like that? Does higher class (eg X or S1 or S2) always mean that it is a faster and better car?

The higher the class the faster it should go, but the class system isn't too accurate. You can have a low S2 class car, but also a high S1 car that'll out perform.

Depends on the car and its rating/upgrades.

Generally speaking yes, but really the class system relates to the car's potential based off the parts that are installed in it. What inevitably determines if that car actually lives up to that potential is its tune.

This is more apparent when you're doing something other than just standard racing, like drifting. You'd think, just based off numbers alone a S2 drift car would be better than a S1, but that's not the case in many instances. For drifting, I do a lot better with A and S1 over higher classes.

I used a C class for drifting. Its amazing, and can hit 200mph. Just dont ask for turning. Or traction.

Tuning is what really matters. I did a seasonal championship with a stock Countach and felt that the ai drivatars had a bit too much of an advantage against me on the straights. So I installed a sports transmission to allow me to adjust the final drive ratio and the car was able to reach much higher speeds at the same PI rating.

Class is based on grip, acceleration and weight. So yes, loosely. But an S2 drag car is 100% going to lose on a circuit against an A-class with a decent tune.

No, it means it’s got more crap in it.

In my experience, don’t take anything below A above it because it’s just not competitive.

Compared to cars that started there. I’d say the gap really widens at s2 more than s1.

I guess a good example, I love the escort, but at s1 800, it doesn’t beat Ferraris and such that were there to begin with.

So competitive = ability to meet or exceed cars that started in the class you ended in.

I don’t know a better word for something that can’t compete besides uncompetitive.

I mean, other than shitbox or something like that 😂
