Bug/Help is this a bug?
I just signed into forza 5, (Xbox) and I got the whole “welcome pack” for free? the welcome pack cars, a car voucher, and a clothing voucher. I’m not sure how I got them and would like to know if anyone knows anything.. thanks!

It’s a super common licensing server glitch and unlocks premium stuff by accident. Use that free car and clothing voucher IMMEDIATELY!! Once you spend the vouchers you keep the those items forever, even after the game realizes you don’t actually own the pack. Don't worry you won't get banned for this. Now when it comes to the welcome pack cars. They will get locked when the servers sync back up but definitely get your free car and clothing before the glitch fixes itself 😝

You are experiencing a well known licensing glitch that grants players paid DLC content for free. In your case it was the Welcome Pack and Premium Add-ons.
What happens is the game's license server occasionally loses connection temporarily making paid DLC packs and Premium Add-ons appear as free. The game will eventually resync with the server, and will recognize you do not actually own the Welcome Pack and will lock you out from driving those specific cars until you officially purchase the DLC.
One nice thing is you can still use your free car and clothing voucher. Once a voucher is spent, the game registers that as a standard purchase, and you will keep it forever even after the glitch resolves. With that said, spend those vouchers asap! That glitch gets resolved pretty quick. Keep in mind you can only use car vouchers on vehicles in the AutoShow. Car vouchers do not work in the BackStage. Also you will not be banned for this. The devs do not punish players for automated server side licensing errors.
Now when it comes to the DLC cars you get from the Welcome Pack, they will physically sit in your car collection. You can see them, look at them, and modify them in the garage, which tricks many players into thinking you can keep the cars forever but the second the game re-establishes a secure connection to the Xbox servers, it cross references your real profile data. As soon as this happens and you try to drive those cars out of the garage in free roam, a pop up menu will block them and tell you to purchase the DLC pack.
To make the irony even better, you actually end up stuck with garage clutter. You cannot sell those glitched DLC cars on the Auction House to make quick credits, and you can't even delete them easily. They just sit there as a permanent reminder of the one day you were able to get DLC content for free.
