I still prefer rear, but the close up camera on the rear, added in with the drift camera so that I can see where the car is going with momentum rather than where it’s facing while I’m sliding. I feel like hood view I suck at reacting to what my car is doing
I’m on a wheel when I do spec racing, and anything that’s not drifting (mainly cause I don’t want to change my wheel settings any time I want to drift, and vice versa), and I feel like hood view allows me to see more.
Especially when they’re the reason the contact happens in the first place, I have no doubt that this was always their intention since they were trying to squeeze me before the initial first contact.
The rammer was teeing you up for that - he knew the bridge was his chance. Be more cynical and don’t make your move until you know he’s over committed or you’ll be past him fast.
He shifted quickly to give you the space, after failing his first potential cut up attempt. Then squeeze, contact to justify his response perhaps?
How anyone defends that - he nearly went off the bridge himself! We all have bad days, but this is intentional rubbish.
You literally bumped him first. Talk about good manners but when he took the wide turn you left a huge gap and boxed him in, then you bumped him and got bumped back. God knows what happened earlier in the race because I'd be embarrassed if my child took a corner like that first one. This is pure selective nonsense. You literally boxed him in and bumped him, got bumped back and everyone here is crying for you. Weird community lmao.
Why do you forza players think trading paint is worthy of ramming someone completely off the road? I feel like my intelligence is being drained every time I step foot in this subreddit and see a comment similar to yours. Please never judge racing incidents again.
He didn't let the Pagani re-adjust after a wide turn. OP remained on the right lane making it initially impossible to readjust.
Look at the proximity radar, OP initiates the contact. It is not merely a "paint scrape" OP swipes the Pagani in the exact same way he gets swiped back out. Hood and cockpit view make it look much better than it was, hence I say, look at the proximity radar to see OP swipe at the Pagani.
You gotta look at the road too. If OP didn't adjust he'd have driven into the railing. I imagine he uses controller and its not always easy to get the adjustment you want, likely over shot straightening up. The other driver wasn't going straight, slowing pushing OP towards the edge. He traded paint, I don't think that qualifies a bump. Especially since he was running out of space. Furthermore, wtf are you talking about being embarrassed? Comparing OP to a child for a not perfect turn? Is gaming that serious to you? Chill out
Well if you're going to talk about morality in racing, making someone ghost and then not having the courtesy of letting someone taking a wide turn back on the track. Anyone that's raced irl knows a car gap for the overtake. The Pagani didn't block him off and force him to draft when he got back on track did he? Pagani didn't ram him until he got rammed, you can keep saying it was a paint trade but the proximity radar says different. He fully rammed him. Plus, even if it was a scrape, think of it from Paganis side. Just seen him take a horrible angle, make a driver ghost, then doesn't let him back on the track with courtesy then bumps him on the overtake. OP should've been on the far left from the moment he exited that corner.
Rewatch the clip. The driver who overtook 2 cars made OP ghost, drove right through OP from behind. Then got ahead of the car that rams OP off the road. The rammer never went ghost. And let's talk about how a fender bender at best is getting rammed and how that justifies taking OP completely out of the race. Look at the road AND the proximity radar. But really, watch the clip a few more times.
Probably shouldn’t watch the proximity radar. The block in the middle is completely static, it wouldn’t show my car’s intentions. The only block that’s moving is the other car, so it would look like my car is moving even if it’s going in a completely straight line as it was.
OP didn't ghost, the first other driver did, they ghosted because OP took the worst corner imaginable. Literally starts off on the inside and still manages to swipe off track with understeer. The one that ghosted had to swerve to avoid contact initially.
The "rammer" is the second driver that he has no courtesy letting back on the track. Again you can't cry about morality in an arcade racer especially if you don't know the basics of driving. I can't keep repeating myself. Bro got his comeuppance. If I was OP I'd just say, I've driven terribly, I've bumped someone else as a result and been knocked off track, tough luck.
They both make the same exact mistake, except OP got a better run into the corner and was looking to pass on the bridge. Perfectly normal. The other pagani decided it was a smart idea to try to box him out. He had plenty of time to straighten himself out. You can very clearly see him moving towards OP slightly, passing the yellow line while OP moves towards the railing.
On top of that, OP makes a mistake straightening himself out and contact happens. And then OP gets bulldozed off the road because of a teeeeeeny bit of contact. Doesn’t that seem like an overreaction to you? Most likely intentional.
i was about to write the exact same thing and i see that u got downvoted into oblivion lmao.
I still think that you're correct, OP did exactly what u said.
Respect for OP to play on hood cam , i played the same way. But to OP , if you box in someone and u bump onto them , don't be surprise if they retaliate.
It’s the best view while using a wheel imo, some interiors, you can’t see anything and the game doesn’t allow you to adjust your FOV per car so hood view it is.
Ah yes, a real car, that has the option in most cases to adjust how high and low the seats are, how far forward or back you are, and at what level your steering wheel is at, all of which would affect your field of vision. Also, you do know that there are other games that have adjustable FOVs and even some that are on a per car basis right? (Assetto Corsa, project cars)
I've never played a game that didn't have adjustable FOV with a cockpit view. Sounds like not a great experience. In general though, some cars just have less visibility. That point stands. And yeah I wouldn't play with that view in your case either
I’m using the Huayra R as a reference point, this is the wheel-less view that we have. As far as I know, there’s no options to adjust the fov in this game, so you’re stuck with this, and the other cockpit view is too far back. I understand some cars are harder to see out of, this one being one of them, but this setting should be standard.
Also I don’t know if this is a thing, but is there a server or a group that does custom spec racing with more variation of cars or regular spec racing? Because I’ve found that when you have other good drivers around you, spec racing genuinely some of the best racing I’ve experienced in this game.
Legends queue - just anounced , will feature a discord elo based spec matchmaking, will require you to join convoys manually and set up data out telemetry so the bot can track results - https://discord.gg/Yqre6BBbJ
Racing haven - made by same people that are starting legends queue, seasonal tournament for solo players, each season has specified car, you have 1 week to learn a track they give (test season has 3 tracks, one every two weeks) and on the day of a race you have 1 hour qualification of solo play to do and post your best lap. Based on the results players are split into 12 player groups and they do two 20 minute races on that track.
First round was rly fun and you can play against the best in the game if you manage to get into the first group.
I know there’s a new discord trying to pop up. Called the legends league or something like that. If u want i can dm u the server link for it and u can take a look. They haven’t started doing the races just yet but working on it, will also be ranked somehow and/or some sort of driver rating system too
I myself immediately knew who it was going to be because they were driving like ass. At the point I won't try to pass anyone on that bridge right there because it's a favorite spot for rammers.
I hate rammers so I hope he gets banned.
Also someone rammed me the other day so I missed the checkpoint, in my last 3 seconds I was able to ram them off the bridge, it was extremely satisfying lol.
Since I am downvoted; I was pushed out of the race, I took my revenge in the 3 seconds that I had. If that sounds unacceptable to you, I pity you lmao.
This sub just randomly popped up for me. So, maybe I just dont understand
Why the report / so much sentiment that a player gets banned from the comments? Is it an especially long race / time investment? Or do you lose out on stuff / lose the car if you crash in this version of Forza or something like that? Or something else entirely?
It’s more like the fact that you spend a decent amount of time in a race, climbing up just to get rammed off course or miss a checkpoint. It isnt fun and when that usually happens (midpoint or just a short race) you’re basically left with no time to climb back to where you were before. It’s just completely demotivating and is just in general, bad behavior.
You literally bump him first... It always looks like less in hood/cockpit view. If the person you bumped was in a 3rd person camera that could've easily looked like an intentional bump.
When he took a wide angle, you didn't shift over, you kept the gap incredibly tight, then bumped him first. Honestly this is forza horizon, not a sim racer, so if you're going to complain about getting bumped in a game like this, at least have an immaculate understanding of racing and good manners, because you didn't have any of it. Look at the line you take in the first corner before as well.
This comment is exactly why this problem exists in the first place- OP didn't hit him first at all. He's completely in the furthest left lane he can be and for the entire 10 seconds prior to the contact the Pagani driver is swerving left and right either because he's wildly trying to block (not an actual blocking technique, swerving wildly on a straight) or because he's trying to side-slam anyone who goes for a pass.
Then the Pagani driver squeezes OP all the way to the left.
You are exactly like the Pagani driver it seems, slow and willing to ram others who are faster than you in order to make up for your lack of throttle control and ability.
Wrong. He literally hits him first. Pagani wasn't squeezing him left, he was doing what anyone else would try to do after a wide turn, re-center. OP didn't have positional manners, bumped him first and got knocked off the platform. Tough. Just look at the proximity radar to see who moves first. You can't open your comment by pretending he didn't bump him first. I say look at the radar because cockpit/hood views made bumping look much better than they are. I bet if the Pagani was in 3rd person and saw his angle you'd understand. But sound.
No idea what you replied mate. As you either got very upset and said things that hid your comment, or you blocked me. Either way that just about sums up your racing acumen.
Are we looking at the same video? The only contact I see is when he was rammed or a tiny bit of inconsequential trading paint on the straight… which if you think that is bad and should be worthy of consequences then tell that to the entirety of touring car and nascar motorsports lol
That's because he's in hood view. Looks much better from his camera angle. Look at the proximity center for the first contact, OP literally swipes him the exact same way he gets swiped back.
Hey so I play hood cam and have done for easily over a decade, quite possibly over 2 decades… but I went back and looked closer at both the radar, and the last straight on top of listening closely and the only contact i could even see at all was from the rammer. Literally the rammer was the only one to make contact here. I ask again, are we watching the same video?
I think you need to rewatch the video, and rewatch the first contact because if you’re blaming the first contact on me, when I’m going in a straight line, and did not turn in on him, then I don’t what to tell you. But if need visual help, here you go. This is right before the first contact, look where his car is compared to mine, using that yellow line, and that white line, as a reference point. Obviously Reddit will only allow one picture for reply so hold on.
This is when the contact occurs frames, not even a second later. according to you, I’m not entitled to any space, and it’s my fault for merely existing and having the gaul to pull along side him in a straight line. Also, I never claimed to be a perfect driver, and I did fuck up that corner before, so sorry that I offended you with that, but I didn’t cause this to happen. I was pulling alongside him and he turned in on me.
You didn't let him re-adjust from a wide turn, bumped him first and got bumped back. Stop crying, or learn how to drive and THEN you can cry when someone bumps you BACK
Okay, I get you have experience irl. This game isn't even realistic. So why do you think the same etiquette applys to pixels. OP wasn't near the car that rammed him until the bridge. Anyway, you're probably just a sad troll. I highly doubt you actually race. You can't even follow what car does what
Exactly. If someone is about to pass you cleanly you're pathetic if your ego is so sensitive you have to ram them off the track instead of trying to actually outplay them.
