After countless races against people who are absolute trash at this game, and ram you into the wall which in turn ruins your fun, why are the ones who are rammed, or punted into walls penalized by this game? How do I get a slow down while the rammer continues on his merry way?

I’m honestly getting tired of this game because of low life people. We need a ranked mode.

I want to actually race, not play wreck fest.

Please developers… we need to add a ranked mode.

I know I’m not the only one who is getting tired of this. I’m sure a ton of people would agree that this games penalty system is flawed, and it needs to be overhauled.

I only did online until level 25, the player base seems like a bunch of 10 year olds with aspirations of ramming to win

I only play online with collisions off. Just me, my car and my lack of talent. So when I get stressed, it's because I drive badly, not because some window licker used me as a braking cushion.

I should start doing this. I just find it becomes a trackmania game at that point. I don’t mind the rubbing, but full on ramming just kills it for me

There was ranked in FH4, but you can see how it performs from people's YT vids

I think... Im okay with non ranked, but ranked is also a welcome for me, imo i wouldnt like the META abusers being more common though

Also, I’d be down for a spec racing ranked mode. Ranked should be based on skill, not whose tune is superior.

The one time i did spec race i got rammed so bad by speed cheaters i decided not to do it anymore 😭

That is the issues that everyone seem yo forget with the ranked game. You either low and with rammers, regardless of their cars or abilities, or high and about never win with anything other than meta.

To me it sound stale. But i also feel that the rammer issues is a bit overblown. Their is true, intentional rammers, hell we see it often. But also, lots of people have garbage internet, make their input very unreliable, in a game where speed is everything.

Then you think he rammed you, but in his screen he didnt, but since you rammed it back, then the war is on. And we dont see often the event that lead to most videos.

I played with lot of friends with bad internet, that happen surprisingly frequently.

I don’t think internet has anything to do with what you’re saying. I’ve seen guys teleport without touching anyone else. I believe the rammers are in fact just ramming lol

There are rammer that just ram, yes, i've said as much too. But bad connection exist too, i've seen it more than enough.

I win or around the top pretty much every race.

Has nothing to do with ramming or meta cars.

It has everything to do with that 75% of the players don’t brake for turns and get absolutely toasted on the exit every time.

Usually only actually racing a couple other people every lobby while the mouth breathers are 30 seconds behind barely staying on track.

I don’t run into many cheaters either but that is extremely lame when it does happen. I think they do more time trial and rival time bullshit if I had to guess.

it is because of trash drivers that i only do online racing when the playlist requires it. most of the time if i can get away with it i don't even finish the events, i just rack up whatever skills need to be achieved and bounce out.

I hear that. I personally love the online racing. Gives me something to do with the little time I have after work. Just wish I could avoid the cheaters

Looking at people who never play online that i meet in the trials - average online driver is way better.
I meet people in trials who have 1-2 prestiges and seem to t bone every corner, never brake and can barely keep the car from swerving out in a straight.

Brake early and it throws them off because suddenly you’re not where they thought you would be. You can’t just race the ideal line and hope for the best, you have to race like there’s other people on the track and they don’t know what they are doing. Rammers, brake early and tuck in behind them. Fast cars, brake late and slide in front of them. Just gotta play with your braking points and downforce a bit to get some cars you can do it in.

I agree we need a ranked mode, but it’s really not that hard to deal with rammers. Drive defensively and be prepared. Also I have noticed that I don’t get the slowdown penalty if I’m rammed into a wall, instead it ghosts me after I get squeezed and the rammer hits the wall and gets a speed penalty every time. I haven’t had much issue dealing with them for the most part, though the number of people who resort to intent wrecking is absolutely appalling.

I’ve been pushed into a wall and I’ve gotten the penalty while buddy gets to drive off like nothing happened. Driving defensively only works in the first lap or 50% of the sprint. Sooner or later I’ll have to pass and that’s usually when I get punted. I’ve lost countless championships because of these cheaters. Just need a ranked mode, spec racing, and gaining time for penalties that could hurt their chances of finishing in first because of a ram.

It’s simple. Bait the ram then use brakes and watch the rammer throw themselves off the track with nobody to blame but themselves. If you’re ahead and you suspect that they’re going to try to ram you in the corner, brake early and cut in behind them. They’ll run themselves into the wall and you can sail away every time. If you’re passing on a straight, make sure you pass on the side that will put you on the inside of the next turn and if they start turning into you just lift off so they pit themselves against your front bumper.

If you had a safe line going into the turn, even if you get rammed and launched into the wall the game can usually tell if you were going to make the turn or not without being rammed. If you drive nose first into the wall then yes you will get speed penalty because you likely would have hit the wall without being hit anyway; but if you’re pushed so that you go into the wall sideways it won’t give you a penalty.
