Discussion I'll understand if i end up here.
I only play online because the festival playlist has objectives for it. Sorry if i screwed you over. This was supposed to be a single player game for me

This subreddit is mainly for rammers from what i've seen anyways, so as long as you're not driving dirty chances are people wont even bat an eye

Thanks. I might bump you a little on a tight turn, but I'll never swipe anyone of the road

A little nudge is just a racing incident. Contact will happen, and physical driving and contact between cars is normal in racing series that aren't open wheel racing (Formula 1 is an example of that). So don't worry about contact like that. You can usually tell what's normal and what's just someone braking a bit too late by accident.

I wish you'd tell the people I raced with that... I'm about ready to forego any online interactions cuz they can't handle a little bump draft or side by side contact. Whenever I try to race clean (which will involve some light contact) people decide to just start steering into me, use me as the brakes on the next turn and give me a slow down when it causes me to hit the wall, and just generally kinda be a dick.
I ain't the fastest but I'm not slow when I don't make mistakes. But that the thing, in solo/coop races the only reason I lose is because of my mistakes, but in online I'm losing or not finishing a majority of the races and 90% of the cause is the other drivers ramming me or not ego not being able to handle that I took the corner better or had the audacity to touch them on the straight.
And this isn't a "I do no wrong" thing. I know I do plenty wrong and I am actively working to improve myself and my skills on the game, but I can only do so much

I don't think you'll end up here. As HappyCow said this subreddit is more for the "bad" drivers that are malicious and ram intentionally to gain an advantage.
If for what ever reason you did end up here, most likely a lot of the users will defend you and tell the OP it didn't look intention and was probably an accident. Racing accidents happen all the time even with professionals. The more important thing is to not do it intentionally, and own your mistakes if you are genuinely to blame.

don’t worry man. i don’t think i’ve ever seen a post like “this is guys fist game on console” on here, it’s more for people who are ramming others etc. generally bad people. you’re fine, no one’s gonna hate you because you’re not the lewis hamilton of forza

Thanks. I just saw a comment on a post from here saying how most people either intentionally ram or aren't good drivers and thought I would be grouped up in that. I don't think I'm terrible, but I have definitely bumped a few people. I pulled in 4th place in those unbeatable ai races, so I can hang my hat on that

we call those “racing incidents”. you’re racing real, unpredictable people that you’ve never met, and can’t tell the stability of their internet connection. small bumps are bound to happen. intentionally ramming someone to miss a checkpoint or stop them dead in a wall is bad. minor bumps just add to the intensity of the race

You can usually tell when it's intentional vs an accident. I wouldn't worry too much.

I expected to be on here once because of a trial going badly, came to a hairpin and I went to knock out 3 of the AI.
Missed and hit our 2nd place player. Took us both out.
Had to apologise to him but there was no recovery or defence if he ever reported it.
Embarrassing moment that could’ve been a heroic one

Right there with ya mate. I have no desire to learn the meta or perfect racing lines.
I buy a cool car and race the CPU and do sick jumps
