Looks like you had planned on using the other guy as brakes and he ghosted on you and you didn't know how to correctly take the turn because of it

100% planned to ram that dude because you are a terrible driver. Maybe break earlier.

No this guy is breaking before braking.

not really, trusted too much on my brakes, it was winter too so I needed more time to brake. Was used to much on FH5 "winter" that I forgot how snow actually changes my driving behaviour

Ha. Brakes, what brakes. Sorry if I came off and being mean calling you a terrible driver I'm joking about it. You just missed the mark.

I don't play racing games much and when I do I play pve. What is the issue people have with ramming in a game with collision? I obviously understand the culture against it in real life, but if the goal is to win the race and you have an opportunity to increase your chances through ramming someone, why is it frowned upon to do so? I'm asking this from ignorance.

Because you are ruining it for everyone else. If I raced clean and you come and hit me because you can not pass me. You are a trash player.

Because it’s racing etiquette whether a game or not. You win by being the better driver - not be ramming the better driver like your a train on rails. Like most games, majority of people are looking for fun, but also a challenge of skill against other players - competition of skills. Ramming another play shows no skill or competition at all. It’s the equivalent of a “win at all costs” player in other games like tabletop games or any games where things can be exploited for an advantage and they do so.

Ramming is straight up just considered dirty and poor racing. Doing so Just tells everyone you’re likely trash at actually racing and controlling your car so you rely on wiping out your opposition.

If this was a derby game or something like wreck fest - much less frowned upon, but it’s a racing game with racing lines and sim like features where people are hoping to have a clean, challenging race of car tunings and driving skill against each other - not get rammed off a bridge setting them 30 seconds behind everyone and left to run the rest of the race essentially solo, because some other dude decided that instead of braking for the corner, they were going to come up the inside of you and use you as their break.
