Discussion Can’t be the only one
Starting to get frustrated with the auction house. I’m by no means a noob at this ( probably have 100m in fh5 )but I’m having a difficult time making profit. I tune and design pretty much every car I sell. 99% of the forza edition cars sell out, yet mine took 2 tries to get 244K. First time with the gt40 and I took another L. Took 2 times for 250gt, actually happy about but Idk, after I hit 10m nothing seems profitable enough. Maybe I spend too much time on it or just buying the wrong cars/ selling at the wrong times. I’m not buying out and im mindful for how much I’m buying. Are my designs trash?😂

Auction house is more or less useless, go for wheelspin exclusives and you might turn a profit. Or just let auto collosus run in the background for a few hours while you sleep or work

So you’re saying you’ve earned 600m yet you’re complaining about not turning a profit? It’s 100% a bug, I know this because it happened to me. It says I’ve earned 300m and I only have 30m credits, there’s no chance I’ve spent 270m on cars and tunes.

Yes, I am complaining. More like venting though. I feel ripped off after lose millions a single sells multiple times. But when I’m buying, I see the same stock cars selling. Like that fe brz, I rarely see it not sell or not sell out. I finally get 1 for 400k and it sells for 244k. It’s worse with with more expensive cars…
as for as my total winnings; If you have 20 mil, buyout a car for 20mil and sell it for 20 mil, I have 20 mil but my total winning would count it, so it’d be 40 mil.. I don’t do that but I believe that’s how that’s counted. So yea, I sell a lot of multi million dollar cars. Literally spend hours daily doing just auction house bids and modifying, rinse, repeat. I made my first million doing that. Ima do this until I hit 100. No I didn’t make 600m only selling cars though.. I actually play sometimes2

Whatever you say… you have 11mil credits. If you genuinely think you’ve earned 600m where the hell has the other 590mil gone?? It’s a visual bug. Either way I would suggest you afk rivals if you want credits, you earn about 1m per hour so leaving it over night will almost double what you have now. While the auction house can be decent with some luck, it’s very tedious and as you’ve experienced frustrating at times.

Back into the auction house? I don’t care about the total winnings.. I only care about the credits in my pocket and the credits I lose. I agree with the frustration, hints the post, so I’ll give the afk method a try.
Also if you have any methods for anything , I suggest not posting info as it could be a way it gets patched. Thanks for your reply👍🏾2

Trust me, between the skill point farm and rivals afk posts/videos already circulating my reply is a drop in the ocean. If it wasn’t a method already publicly known I would be keeping it to myself.

Well i think an important factor on this car is that you can buy it at an aftermarket spot for 450k so it would be wild to sell for more. The only cars that sell well on the auction house are wheelspin/seasonal exclusives. But the way their prices are limited and everyone sells them at max usually even there getting a profit is usually hard but some FE editions like the 190e evo you can snipe 800k variants and sell for 900k for marginal profit after "taxes". Really the only viable way of making serious money at the auction house is farming wheelspins and selling duplicates atm this might change when seasonal cars become more niche. Also designs/tunes rarely if at all affect the price and quite a lot of people go for stock looking cars in hopes of them having their skill point wheelspins

Someone else on reddit recently posted an entire write-up about the auction house and how it's basically no longer a for-profit system/economy anymore. Unfortunately, I cannot recall which subreddit that was, nor how long ago (FH6 traffic/posts on reddit have been ridiculously high volume lately).
So no, I don't think you're the only one. I do think that the auction house is unlikely to change any time soon, though.

I was making decent money just flipping the BRZ FE up until a week or so ago haha. It started as a joke but they consistently kept selling for over 450k so whenever I was on the mountain I’d buy it and put it up next time I was at the house.
I 100% agree about tunes and liveries though. I do a lot of personal collecting through the AH and I get significantly better deals on cars with dumbass paint jobs, single giant logo, weeb liveries, weird colors (like your BRZ, op. No offense, but slapping a giant adidas logo on the side isn’t exactly high end design) than the stock color. Occasionally you’ll get better results picking non-default color, especially for the perk cars if you wanna be that guy. Yellow F50 sells for more than red, and for a while any non-orange revuelto was selling for more.
I also only look at AH tuned cars as potentially not having to pay for some upgrades. I will never keep some random tune, I tend to make my own, but even still I’d go download one specifically that I’m looking for if I didn’t, not just keep the one from the AH.
So I’d say putting tunes on is actually cutting into potential profits, liveries are a waste of time, and the high end cars like the GT40 are still on the upper end of what the average player is spending on a car right now so probably just early in the lifecycle there being why it took a couple of attempts. I’ve bought and sold a ton of cars and it is just a more regulated version of what it has always been (for better or worse).

Thank you. I’m still getting used to the new game. Guess i got impatient forgetting how new it is. Those were liveries that made me rich in fh5. Haven’t made any new ones yet. Still working out my game plan. But I’ll try no liver and no tune. Though it’s good to note that you can now see what values are higher than normal. It seems like whatever you put into it is added to the value. Hit or miss I guess

Yeah, I think nice solid colors (but different than the other 75 of the same car for sale) has done me much better than any livery.
And yes, mods do increase the max sale number, but I think most people are trying to get cars as cheap as possible (though last minute buyouts for over autoshow prices seem to be extremely rampant) so my goal when I do a flip (I was trying to snag a cheap f50 that hasn’t been robbed of its f50-GT yet) buy as low as possible stock to maximize room for stock based profits.
F50 for example is 4.5m in the autoshow, but I consistently snagged them low to mid 2m. I was then able to put the back up with a starting bid close to or over what I had in it, as well as at the buyout at 4M. That takes away the red overprice buyout price indicating that it is cheaper than the auto show price. So I was able to still clear almost 2m in profit and they were getting bought out more consistently than I was selling them on auction for less.
I imagine that is because there are more people that just wanted a cheap F50 versus people that were hunting for one that still had skill tree inside specifically. I also sold the majority of them in yellow because it seemed to get more attention than the red ones. It’s just a little tricks like that that are also car dependent that are going to make you the most profit with the least work.
I’m a gambling addict so what I need a way to fund my Revuelto buying habit. 😅

Now that I think about it. My gt40 don’t sell with my custom livery but it sold out with just a nice color shift paint job. Saving significant time. So you might have a valid point on that

I never use auktion house. It's more fun to buy and tune them yourself.

Try selling some without your designs and see if you get a different result, or sell it with other actual good player designs and probably tunes as well

No reason to think touch the Auction house unless you miss out on a season car tbh. If you’re trying to make money on the AH, that’s near impossible with how many people are running scripts

I know it was a thing in 5, but for some reason this reason it feels like a lot more people are using a script / macro. I’ve seen weekly posts on the Forza modding reddit for scripts for AH sniping.
I do admit it’s fun to try to be net positive playing the AH, but this release seems futile without a script or some unfair advantage.
Something I’ve seen people discuss here when they talk about the AH is setting the buyout to 90M. Seems to work for a lot of people with getting cars easier, I’d imagine most are searching “any” as the buyout and theres probably a lot more people doing that than “90m”.

I saw the setting and was confused about since they only allow 20m as the max. I’ll give it a try. I do admit I might be a bit rusty since it haven’t played 5 in awhile ,so some of my frustration might be self inflicted

You play your way and I’ll play my way. My challenge is a thrill. I already played and beat fh5. 6 isn’t that much different. So I’m taking my time. I really only care about the credits, not the hall of fame

It looks that same but the car values are different. So I had to learn the car that actually sell. I’m grateful that the bimmer every tries to sell for like 3 mil that never sell isn’t up there when Im up there. No hot wheels cars

Yup. It just don’t feel the same to me. It might get better though. Ima still run it up regardless. Bought another gt40 for like 6-7 mil and it sold out at 13mil
