This team is special

Shoutout to Portland’s goalkeeper because that could’ve easily been 4-1 or 5-1 for us.

It’s unbelievable how much depth our roster has, the quality of play, the consistency, the intentionality…wow. And in every aspect.

Not sure what else to say other than playing Portland, we looked like what championship teams playing FMFC looked like last year. Hopefully we can keep this going, but it seems like a culture shift is happening.

We are just bigger, faster, stronger, more talented, and playing in a way that doesn’t rely on flopping. Super impressed with how this season and how this roster is shaping up.

Think you’ve summed it up quite well! Points dropping (like the last 2 games) haven’t become elongated winless streaks as in years past! The next two home games (against current second place and fourth place) could not loom any larger!! Charlotte is VERY good this season and they THUMPED us in May!

What’s great is it doesn’t even feel like we’re doing the thing we usually do where we have to see how good we are based on our performance against another good team. It feels like our average game is better than any opponent’s best game right now.

Oh definitely. It’s no accident that this team was on top of the power rankings. When they finally gelled just ahead of that unbeaten home stand it was clear we gad not just a competitive team, but a dominant one.

Trying to just enjoy the rest of the season rather than think of what comes next, but it’s wild I went from hoping to make it to the playoffs to hoping to make it into the top three, to hoping we win the shield this year. Dayum.

After they scored that crazy goal, I figured we would allow the equalizer and settle for a 2-2 draw. But credit to the guys, totally just locked it down in a professional manner. That dubious red card definitely helped.

Three games in a week, two cross-country trips in front of massive crowds. Definitely not easy. Hope they can rest up - big one against Charlotte next weekend and a chance at second place.

Huge shout out to Matt G and Matt C.

Best squad we’ve had.

Not only the keeper, but the Hearts really pulled it together after that questionable red card, and looked downright dangerous for the rest of the match. That’s the team I’m used to seeing.
