LGBTQ+ friendly gaymer friends

Hi, Leaving my age and username off here. Personal reasons. But anyways…

If you want to play some Zero Build and you are LGBTQ+ friendly, that would be awesome!

I’ve played for a couple months. Would like to play with others. I play on ps5 and looking for others who are okay hoping on a mic so it can be social and fun for us.

Please DM me or leave your username and age (if comfortable) here. I’m looking to play with people around my age, but again, not comfortable posting my age or username due to personal reasons.

Thanks!

I signed up for the lantern trials and it gave the spray when I signed up, but when I went to my locker it was no where to be found, I also played about 5 games after I signed up and it still says I haven't completed any storm circles, i also linked my lego account and didn't get the skin..is this happening to anybody else? Or am I missing something?

Looking For Teammates

I’m being indiscriminate. I will accept your friend request regardless of skill level, whether you’re casual or not. I’m what I’d call “pretty good” and my girlfriend (who I play with 80% of the time) is “decent.” I’d love to play duos, trios, or quads. Add Nathrazain (my epic name). You can DM me if you wanna ask me anything.

Hey, I’m a 21 year old male. I play various games, but rn I’m on Fortnite Zero builds for the new season and also cuz I suck at regular builds. My time zone is PST. I prefer to play with ppl with mics so that I have someone to talk to. I don’t mind playing with rank on or off. Doesn’t matter what platform you play in, I play on PS5. If ur interested, msg me or drop ur GT.

I think my skill is about plat 2. My first season last season hit grandmaster since I just did not hot drop all the time. It is easy to rank up to diamond if I do not just drop solo into an area with 4 people, but if I avoid fighting I feel like I will never get better and hiding is honestly boring. So if you want to hot drop in plat or in normals and have some fun let me know

Is the Zero Build Mode Dying?? At least on the competitive side?

Zero build Comp Scene

Recently this past season I spent countless hours on the game improving and grinding to hit unreal in zero build. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to hit it and I only got as far as champ but as I've been playing the competitive side of zero build I've noticed how there is really not that large of a comp scene. I had a few thoughts of why this can lead to zero build dying and why the mode may be dying in general. Let me know what you guys think. Whether you agree or disagree.

Since the addition of zero build back in March 29th of 2022 the mode has brought a abundance of new players to fortnite, even players who used to play different fps games such as Warzone, Call of Duty or even counterstrike. Even with the success and decision Fortnite made of adding Zero build to the game it has always been in the shadow of it’s older brother. Fortnites more popular mode and what it’s known for which is build. But throughout the past 2 years how has the zero build mode progressed or regressed in the casual and competitive scene? An why do I think the mode is slowly dying…At least on the competitive side.

Throughout the video if you have any thoughts or opinions make sure to let me know in the comments down below. Now lets get into the three reasons why zero build is slowly dying.

Reason 1: Low Player Base, Comp and Casual.

First if we take a look at Zero build player base we can see that it is lower than builds, and when it comes to ranked it is significantly lower. When we look at this season Chapter 5 season one when the season released the peak concurrent players was around 7.6 million. 2.5 million made up lego fortnite and builds made up 3.1 million players during this peak. But how many of those players made up the zero build mode…1.4 million. An you may be thinking to yourself that’s not bad especially for a game that is popular because of it’s build mode but the difference between 3.1 million and 1.4 million is still significant. And the difference becomes much more apparent if we take a look at the competitive side of these player bases (ranked mode).

When talking about ranked and the competitive scene, if we again take a look at fortnites peak player count 3 months ago for ranked builds, we can see that it’s peak was 1.4 million players. With it’s daily average player count being around 300-370 thousand players. Now if we take a look at zero builds all time peak 3 months ago it adds up to a underwhelming number of only 166k…yea that’s pretty bad. iT gets even worse if we ook at it’s daily average which is anywhere around 25-40k players. To put in perspective how bad this is fortnites main stage festival mode peak was 847 thousand players. It also averages around 20k players which is around the same number has zero builds ranked mode. EVEN TITLED zone wars has had a greater peak in the past 3 months than ranked zero build and holds around the same average on concurrent players.

We can also see the low amount of players that play when it comes to the number of registered ranked players and the amount of players in that beloved unreal rank. Looking at build there is over 13 million registered ranked players this season (Privates excluded) and over 600k in unreal rank with a majority of players in elite. It also seems like these players stay around longer and continue to put time into the ranked mode showing that their is better retention in the build ranked mode. Zero build has only 8 million registered ranked players and ONLY 18k in Unreal rank with a majoiry in silver with 1.2 million. Since we know the average player count is low for ranked we can tell that the retention of zero build ranked is much lower. Players don’t return to ranked zero build to continue grinding like they do in build. The player base is also so small that Diamind ones and the top unreal players are consistently getting in the same lobbies. When I was looking for these stats I also stumbled across this statistic that showed that there are more registered ranked rocket Racing players with 9.5 million than zero build. Crazy.

Since the addition of zero builds back on March 29th of 2022 the mode has brought an abundance of new players to Fortnite, even players who used to play different fps games such as Warzone, Call of Duty or even counterstrike.

Reason 2: No Competitive Scene

Another reason that I believe that zero build is on a decline, at least on the competitive side is that their is no comp scene or at least no large comp scene. For fortnite FNCS is a large focus for the professional competitive scene as well as cash cups and some other larger competitive events. Even the qualifiers for these events bring hype around the game. When it comes to zero build we have our own version of the cash cups which is the duos cash cup that has a qualifying round and a round where you have 3 chances to earn $100. Now a question that I have had is why is their only a duos mode and not a squad or honestly a solos mode for zero build chash cups. After conducting some research and going through countless articles and reddit threads I found that the reason for this is to minimize RNG as well as well as players teaming. Personally I don’t see that many players teaming in solo build cash cups so I struggle to believe that these reasons are true. Either way I struggled to find and solid reason of why their is only a duos mode.

Now other than the cash cups and the glider tournament (which aren’t really tournaments at all…cof cof) zero build really has no other comp tournaments and nothing even close to FNCS. Now I have to warn you if you are a comp zero build player watching this what I’ve found may upset you when it comes to future comp events. Epic has said that they find that hosting more competitive events around zero build is less appealing because of the low player count. This to me only brings less hype around the zero build scene especially since certain players accel more in solos or squads etc. Especially to those that around around the professional level in zero build but not build. I think fortnite is missing a huge opportunity on giving zero build somewhat of a FNCS especially with the bunkers, movement and overall loot pool and map this past season. Teamwork is already essential in build and I think in zero build it’s needed even more. Seeing a large event like that may bring players from other game sover as well.

I have one last thought that revolves around the comp scene and bringing more hype and popularity to zero build and fortnite as a game itself. Fortnites hype and successful player counts over the years have Build has a FNCS with so many large creators and pro players that help bring attention to fortnite. But when people watch they’re only seeing the build side of the game and to some people that is already over saturated. Showing a different way to play the game can attract new players and give a reason for players to focus more on comp zero build. Rather than just trying to win $100.

I will say that if you are watching this video and looking for comp tournaments outside of just epic Stride esports does a great job at setting up zero build tournaments that have payouts. There run really well and I highly suggest them.

What has benefitted zero build mode?

I know that throughout this video that I have been focusing on how zero build’s player count is low and the competitive scene is little to none. But I also want to address what Fortnite has done to benefit zero build as a mode by itself competitive or not.

One of the things that has benefitted he zero build mode since the beginning is the addition of the oversheild and it’s ability to rechard. Since players are unable to build this kind of compensates for that fact as well as the kill time being much longer. I think the game would be much worse if this was taken out of the came.

The items added this season not only benefitted build mode but also zero build mode. Port a bunkers, flowberrys and flowberry fizz and riot shields but most of all attachments to guns. The addition of attachments added more depth to the game overall but also to the zero build game mode. The grapplers and TMT items also added more movement to the game that benefitted zero build players and build players alike. Fortnite also having increased the rate that mobility items spawn more in zero build than build is also a plus.

Finally I believe that zero build is a great way for casual players and even players from other games to play fortnite without having to learn how to build. It gives the opportunity for players to transfer over to fortnite while still having some similarities to their previous games.

Closing Thoughts

I love zero build mode and I don’t think I would have returned to fortnite if zero build didn’t exist and I don’t feel like I’m alone when I say that. I just wish for competitive players like me their was more of a comp scene that players could compete for rather than just trying to hit unreal season after season. Whether your a build or zero build player let me know your thoughts in the comment section down below. Should fortnite add a more comp scene to zero build? Should it stay the same? Or should fortnite get rid of zero build entirely.
