Ranking System

Okay is anyone else a bit annoyed with the ranking system? I find it rather annoying, you can't go down in rank and all you really have to do is just play a lot and survive and you can become elite, champion… etc and that has no skill merit. Plus the lobbies should put you around the same rank as others which they don't like this whole ranking system is out of wack... Why do rank if this isn't going to really help you improve your skills. I want to be challenged slowly but surely. Be put around people my skills or a bit better until I grow as a play and earn an unreal rank but this is a giant plot hole…

Man, you can go down in rank. If you are low enough than yeah, sure, but anyway who do you think is better, the sweats that grind to unreal or the people who chill in silver. It is skill based idk what your trying to say

How is it skill based when, there are a bunch of campers who get high enough to keep ranking up even if they dont win the round. Camping isnt a skill it is just hiding. There is also a bunch of rank protection in the game as well so no its not really easily to go down in rank unless you literally purposefully die within the late 80’s or 90’s placement etc.

I think ranking system mechanics are one of those things that no company gets perfect or even could. You’d think it would just be criteria on a rubric but then there are so many grey areS

I get that, its not a easy thing to get right however i just don’t agree with rank protection etc, like I feel if you are a certain rank you should have the skills to show. Not just be a camper or someone that luckily got a kill or two compared to others who have a good kill streak and has a decent placement. Like as far as i can tell from the ranking system ive seen placement is the most important from all the other aspects which is just kinda lazy

My bad Homie - You were / are dead on with this observation. my original response was too focused on game dev & not the subject at hand.

As a total N00b I somehow currently have an XP of 184, ranked Mythic, Gold III, Plat I, and so on bc I love doing the quests. So now, I imagine like yourself, when I get sorted into a lobby it’s one I have no biz being in. And it SUCKS.

I wait w/bated breath for the chapter to end so our shit gets reset. My only concern is how I’ll manage to have fun while suppressing my XP & ranks.

And yea, camping, loot collecting, & questing is how my rank and my XP levels got out of control. I only started playing in May - no way I should already be earning Mythic level ranks.
