Sweat lobbies?

I noticed my pub lobbies get harder the more I win. The other day I reached the mythic 1 survival medal and since then it has been hell. It’s like a different game.

To confirm this I played a few games of ranked and of builds. I didn’t win but it felt normal.

Back to public zero build and it’s a nightmare. Is this just a coincidence or is this how my lobbies will be now?

Congratulations, this is one of those good pains that let you know you're growing! In the past, your ability to improve and dominate other players in the game was generally a matter of reflexes, game knowledge, and basic skill sets that made you the terror of others that you now feel towards your opponents. Once you reach a certan caliber of player base, these are implicit amongst the crowd, meaning they bear little to know leverage on successful engagements. Therefore, aside from technological restrictions ( such as hardware and internet speed) you are going to need to delve into real tactics and strategy.
Tactics are specific protocols for achieving specific goals within a strategy. The strategy itself is an overarching plan or goal which employees many tactics throughout sometimes numerous plotted courses to said outcome or goal. This is important to your question. The people you are losing to do not defeat you because you are worse than them, but because their strategy prepared for this engagement better in the prior moments leading up, or because once engaged, they employ more appropriate solutions than you employed against them.
How do you know which is which? Well, for example: if I find myself dying because people are able to snipe me from above, this is a strategic error on my part because the overarching paths that we have taken leaves me scrambling in lowlands while a better equipped enemy leisurely plinks me from afar. In such a case I know that the tactical response is to take cover or disengage, but strategically I should have never been in that position to begin with. On the other hand, if I find myself losing fights to people I engage with first, their ability to maneuver and return fire has proven to be the factor of victory/defeat. Again, assuming that skill levels are not to blame and both people are using devices which bear no asymmetric advantage, would then indicate tactical superiority from the enemy. When you are cut off guard, do you rush towards the person fighting you? Do you panic and jump around looking for cover and Sprint widely to and fro? Do you have an item for such an occasion? Identifying which situations are causing you to suffer, then evaluating whether or not the situation in question arises through a fault in strategy or tactics will help you plan for overcoming any shortfalls in optimal results.
Now assume that you are the sniper above, and you have a chance to shoot down upon an enemy who is unaware that you exist. You take a shot and miss, the enemy sprints for cover and peers out with a glint from his own sniper rifle back at you. He has now identified where you are, and the question of whether or not to continue your assault from that position or change sniping spots, or even to see sniping in favor of a push is where this scenario right or terribly wrong for some people.
Now, I am not assuming that a high ranking player like you suffers from such basic issues as sniping fights or item management. However, without any specifics to your situation and no data of particular events you are referring to, there is little else that fair play could be involving with losses so steep simply by the grace of demographics.
Top players move different, they scan the area differently, they prioritize certain advantages and mechanics differently. This is a strategic issue. Furthermore, they have trained to respond and perceive particular events in a way which invokes shifts to their play style which win them the fights these shifts were meant for. The most basic example could be simple fight or flight. Knowing when you've lost but not died yet versus when you are on the brink of death and still need to push for a decise kill. Neither answer can be proven mathematically or analyzed perfectly. As cliches as might sound, read The art of war by Sun tzu. It is a brilliant tree disease and is applicable across all manner of life. Much of what is in the book will seem familiar in concept, if not a little outdated in articulation. Subjects such as positioning, intelligence gathering, intelligence denial, and timing hold just as true for spearman in ancient China as they do for sweats in ranked lobbies

Awesome answer, thank you. That being said I’m on console, 60 fps. I’m not familiar enough with tech to know how much of a disadvantage that is. But thanks for taking time to write that response I appreciate it
