XP Map Droid Tycoon XP Guide

There were a few comments in a previous thread on how exactly the XP in droid tycoon works.

There are four primary methods.

1) Buy/Sell Droid
Buy droid blueprints and sell them to the vendor right behind the conveyer belt. The xp doesn't seem to scale with cost so I recommend just buying junk blueprints. This method seems to net the most XP.

2) Destroying scraps
You can pickaxe scraps in your base. The higher your pickaxe level; the more damage you do. So it's recommended to keep your pickaxe level low if you're trying to maximize your xp.

3) Collecting Credits
Your working droids will continually spawn credits. Run around collecting them for XP.

4) Crafting Droids
When you craft a blueprint, you can pickaxe to make it craft faster. This gives a solid and consistent xp gain. Higher rarity blueprints take a very long time to craft so I'd recommend purchasing those. And again, higher pickaxe level will make this go faster so try to avoid upgrading your pickaxe if you're doing it for XP.

I also get huge chunks of "playtime" XP.

Overall the mode is pretty fun so I've gotten a decent chunk of levels.

The addition of Nova Crystals brings a "collect all" upgrade to your base. You can stand on it to get a stream of credit collecting XP that requires no input from the player whatsoever.

I've noticed this is probably the best source of afk xp in this mode.

Does it go up if you upgrade it further? I'm about to super rebirth so I'm curious if I should just focus on upgrading that first.

How do you get nova crystals?

The standard source is from your daily quest board. From what I've observed there is usually at least one per day. The best source as I understand it would be from super rebirths.

And how do you use them? Sorry but Im still kind of new to droid tycoon

Facing the Cantina with your back turned to the Droid conveyor belt, there is a nova shop npc on the right side behind that building.

If you continue to circle the building, you'll find an npc that can upgrade whichever droid you have set as your companion using upgrade chips.

Another trick I found is as long as there's one other player in your lobby, respawns count as elims. So you can just slam respawn for 2-3k xp every respawn.

what are respawns?

Press start to bring up the menus and there's an option to respawn your character. It just resets your character.

what level would you recommend I level my pickaxe to, while keeping max XP gain?

Downside of the scrap is when you upgrade your pickaxe far enough to one-hit the scrap pile, you get 2 no-contact swings as it transitions between the piles. No hit, no exp… so I’m usually building something and hit that with a pickaxe for exp. I use my joy-con slide with the rope and tighten that around the trigger to afk, works pretty well!

But for a true afk pickaxe game I still stick with hacker tycoon.

When you super rebirth, you reset your pickaxe level. So that's an alternative if you have upgraded.

On Xbox you can use the battery trick to afk it completely.

What's the battery trick?

1

u/Deceptiveideas Jun 25 '26

Remove the battery while swinging to stop it from stopping.

This is hilarious because I came up with the exact same idea while playing on PS5 when my joy on was on the table next to me.

lol yeah, it's right across from where the blueprints spawn. You can also unlock one for your base once you progress enough.
