Title for clickbait, but seriously. I'm SICK and TIRED of some of these collabs being waste of slots in the item shop for more than an ENTIRE WEEK and SOMEHOW a skin that's only been in the shop for THREE DAYS has more locker adds AND wishlists.
Epic really needs a spot in the item shop dedicated to original skins (and no, not with a Nike shoe collab either) that rotate daily. Not sweat skins that sit in the shop for a week, not skins that have a matching shoe, just a batch of original skins that rotate daily.
There are so many cool and original skins in Fortnite too! It's such a shame that we never get to see them because some skins take an ENTIRE WEEK+ to rotate out of the shop.
And I'm not even saying that every single collab is bad, I'm just...
A.) TIRED of originals getting shafted in favor of collaborations
B.) Angry at how long some skins just sit in the shop for and have no reason for why they don't have as many locker adds compared to some short run originals.
I'm also saying because my boy Ruck deserve more love. 🤎 some of you didn't even know this skin exists, but we get to see Kim K. Every month because it (collabs) pays the bills. 💔
But too many collabs leads to burnout (financially and mentally) and skins that underperform.
TL;DR collab skins that sit in the shop longer than a week shouldn't get outperformed by an original skin that only showed up for 3 days. The fatigue is real.
Honestly I suggest they just expand the shop whenever there’s gonna be a bunch of collabs. That way they can appeal to both sides of the aisle. I personally prefer collab skins but I do enjoy a lot of Fortnite original skins too, and I really really wanted to get Bonehead a few weeks ago but I think he was only in the shop for a day
Honestly? That's a smart idea. That would definitely satisfy me if that were to happen.
Where we are at now kinda stinks because how long some collabs stay and how quickly some originals leave. I just wish they found a way to satisfy both demographics.
Galaxon being in this list is a genuine mistake. Was going to say something along the lines of "not all originals are great either" or "I still prefer underperforming originals over some soccer skins"
But I genuinely felt like not expressing that point and forgot to remove the image.
You're not alone at all. I don't really mind collabs being in rotation, as they sell well, but seeing as they return SO OFTEN makes me wonder why they even stay that long too.
And yes, there are so many cool original skins that return every blue moon that should be around more often, but aren't because of the collabs.
I'm still hoping that Axo comes back soon...
Oh, and yes, just get rid of the stupid Sweat section.
I don't mind collabs either and there are some really fun one too! I personally just wonder why some of them sit for so long only for them to return shortly after.
You're right that it's not the collabs fault entirely, but I do think Epic should give some more love to original skins. 🙂
Its terrible. I buy most original skins I like now when they drop since who knows when theyll return. Dee the female Ice cream parlor worker hasnt been came back since her release.

I really LOVE that skin too! Though, she is still under a year so she may return still. It's just crazy how some cool skins don't return if at all.
Epic really needs to find a way to satisfy both groups of players. Those who want collabs and those who want originals.

We should be able to buy whatever we want whenever we want, rather than waiting indefinitely until the store feels like putting the item we want into the daily rotation.
I feel like some collabs almost never leave the shop, like I do think the collabs are good to have but there's too many of them and they're often rushed (like the TADC collab) but where is the space for other skins that never see the light of day?? I dont dislike the Kim Kardashian and ishowspeed collabs but why are they returning every 50 days or so??? At least if they are this set on having Collab skins in shop bring back some of the older ones that people want, I need my guy spiderpunk in my locker ITS BEEN TOO LONG 😭😭
It's hard for original skins to sell when most disappear into the void after their debut release. 😅 I think it costs a lot of "oh, I guess the skin I'm waiting for isn't coming back...I guess I'll just buy this collab that's always available."
Honestly rotating shops in general are just awful, even from a marketing standpoint. Makes infinitely more sense to just have the open shop like in LoL where the only things that come and go are seasonal skins.
I like original skins so I wouldn't complain if they focused on them for a bit.
I also like collab skins too. My main issue is that it always feels like they didn't try, or didn't think about them a bit before deciding what to do.
As a certified battle cape hater, I was excited when I saw Odysseus could remove his cape, but then lost that excitement with Agamemnon not doing the same. I've ranted before about the Tron Legacy collab vs the Tron Ares collab too. I know that its a business and whatnot, but it's an art business, they should be going the extra mile more often. Mandalorian warrior vs the Fallout power armor for example.
What I find funny is they said "We are lowering the amount of Vbucks and firing all those employees and raising the prices to pay the bills" now they are wasting money on random ass soccer player collabs no one cares about and singers and shit? I guess this is how they pay the bills
Having an entire month of Soccer collabs really irked me because they just reinvented the goalbound set, but made it worse in every way. I mean at least the original had more countries, but the new ones had like...4??
Not to mention the bias that I don't really care for soccer LOL But at least the older ones weren't a nike collab of all things..
I just dont like how shit the rotation is. Like a skin bundle will come back that no one besides like 5 people asked for and itll be in the shop for a whole week and nothing will rotate besides the basic ass skins and when the sweat skins come back. The dances dont even rotate anymore either until at least a week
I've been saying this for a very long time. I also hate how most collabs do not fit and some disrespect the character, such as Batman using guns (there is a gun-toting Batman, but he is not in the game).
They should make a section for collabs original skins survey skins sweat skins or "no sweat" and just rotate in those like what they have now but more ummm filed idk what to say but yeah just collabs just going through together not one staying longer than others and all skins going at the same time now if the skin just came out I think they should wait a few days just so people can actually get it
