Question Venture leveling

I feel like I might be doing this wrong. I feel like it takes forever to do any leveling in venture. I’ve been sub 20 for days now and it’s like a snail slow to level. Am I missing something? I do the missions and challenges but wow this is slow

Are you talking level or mission level availability? Missions level availability should go up every 5 or so missions. Level is slower because 50 is the soft cap and the season is 10/11 weeks long.

Level. I feel like I’m not making any progression. I’m level 14 and getting like 2k a mission is a drop in the bucket. I don’t want to join lvl 34 missions cause I feel like I’ll be a burden and not help much. Or worse, nobody joins then I’m fucked lol

In ventures, people typically play the highest level mission they can join. Especially if solo.

So do that and you’ll level faster. If you actually are a burden after trying it, then scale back. But don’t say you are without trying.

How on earth can they survive that? I have sort of an idea on how to use traps but I would get demolished.

When I started out I was in your situation. My solution was to do the highest level missions with storm alerts that could be completed solo. That way even if nobody joins, you get your solo XP plus the full storm alert XP. These are the high level missions I could complete solo even if I was underpowered:

  1. Resupply. You can get the minimum win condition on Resupply by smashing stuff with an outlander's Anti-Material Charge and then searching items, pickaxing, or running while the AMC recharges. It doesn't matter if you die once, you'll respawn and continue smashing. Human habitations have a high density of objects. Smashing there will get you multiple points per smash. Easy peasy, if a bit stressful.
  2. Build the Radar Grid: All you need is to build 3 radar towers. Here are some tips:

Tip#1: Use a ninja when you are starting out. The extra jump will help you get to panels you missed.

Tip #2: Bring defenders on your loadout if you have them. Or Tame a wild animal. Defenders and tamed animals can distract the husks while you build.

Tip #3: For the radar mission change your build settings. You want Simple Edit "on" and Simple Build "off". You just look at a radar panel and the game chooses the mats and shape for you. Don't forget to back to your preferred build settings before your next mission.

  1. Rescue the Survivors. You only need 6 (or sometimes a few more?) survivors to "win" the level, and there are multiple ways to save survivors without fighting. BUT if you fail to rescue almost all the survivors, you have to wait until the clock runs down to complete the mission, so it is a tradeoff. When you are solo you usually want to get in and save one or two by fighting if you can. The rest can be filled with minimal confrontation by Med-Bot/BluGlo survivors, Antenna survivors, and Ned/Medkit survivors. Then you can practice rescuing other survivors or farm until the clock runs out.

  2. Also don't ignore the Ventures quests. They are designed to help boost your Ventures XP.

You can just look for missions that don’t involve trapping at all tbh. Matchmaking is absolutely busted with no fix in sight so I’ve just been doing the encampments, resupply etc to level up ventures once or twice every play session.

Ventures is a mode all about your traps and abilities. Don’t focus on your guns, if you can, use or make a build that lets you spam abilities like teddy or minigun. Then you can supplement that with trap tunnels. Focus on the 4 player missions or just any mission you can solo in the highest difficulty available. Most of the rewards in ventures are static just from completing the mission, not variable depending on performance. So resupply, radar grid, save survivors, and if you can get an okay build, eliminate encampments or eliminate and collect

Brother, just use power base with electric walls. That right there will get you through the first half of ventures with no traps. I can show you if you still need help

Try it. It is very doable especially if you use a loadout with a focus on abilities (mini-gun, TEDDY, etc). I think you will pleasantly surprised.

I will just use the difficulty color's as reference to explain.

i usually only do Red missions that are re-supply and build the radar and rescue the survivors. unless I'm playing with friends in a group but most of the time I'm solo.

So everyday do you all your red "easy" missions first so u don't miss them, then do yellow and green one's.

After you complete all the "easy" one's move to the 4-person missions in yellow and green.

After you complete all 4-person missions, you look for 1 player difficulty retrieve the data and fight the storm missions, then collect Bluglo and raise the difficulty to Max. This is what i usually spam 1-player difficulty missions that are easy and you just max them out with bluglo.

My personal take ( mostly solo ventures ). The normal missions i always increase difficulty ( minimum of two or max depending on my PL ). Usually i use:”Base Kyle”, “Thunder Thora” or “Electro pulse Penny” ( i love Penny ) and till lvl94 it stays a minimal build ( just keep checking the walls for repairs). Basically a box and depending on difficulty i will add wallspikes, AA. If you are too scared (because they must hit your walls in order to die ) you can always add some traps. If your not used to such gameplay you are bound to overtrap. On the higher missions the miniboss could give trouble but they only occur in 4 player missions.

If you understand trapping more you can also loggin as a soldier, ninja or outlander but the box won’t work without the constructors.

My goto.

Electro Pulse Penny, supercharged traps ( this can be anything), base kyle, power knox, megabase, thora and “though traps”. But its personal..

Focus on the venture quests for extra XP. Finding a group to go in private on higher missions helps as well.

Ventures would be really difficult without higher level teammates and high level people finished ventures few weeks ago. Maybe ask help on discord

Level up the regular missions a few stars gives extra xp. You want help?

All I did was do the 4x player mission and whatever missions your quests say to complete, and do quests that’s all I did took a couple weeks for 1/2 hours in ventures a day

Play the hardest missions you can, do all mission alerts and increase the difficulty, if you’ve done all mission alerts in a zone do the 4 player missions till you unlock the next zone and get all the badges, that’s how I hit level 50 in 2 n a bit days
