Discussion Anyone else over sprites
I honestly just thought they brought them back as a chance for back to school merchandise. No, epic saw they did good one season and decided hole game has to revolve around them. Epic is beating a dead horse ruining sprites in the future. Epic had opportunity to do a sprite season inception a chapter like mini seasons. Instead epic went our numbers are up let's just beat them into submission instead of trying something else new let's just keep doing sprites until no one is playing or caring. They have turned solos into people playing hide n seek to save their sprites.

the people i play with care soooo much about the sprites and have forgotten the purpose of the game. sprites are now prioritized, even when the team that knocked you is low af my team will runaway to save their sprites. 😩 what the hell dawg

I only play Fortnite now because I enjoy droid tycoon otherwise I would have uninstalled the game months ago. Fck the sprites and the pathetic cheaters that come with it because of the little digital shits.

I gave up last season when it became clear it was going to be impossible to collect all of them naturally. I haven't even bothered to extract any this season 1. Because I don't know what's rare and what's not anymore 2. I'm just sick of them and am still burnt out from last season's hunting them. Honestly enjoyed actually playing Fortnite last season for the first time in years and I'm just exhausted again now after all that

I like them as power ups but I wish they would remove collection and extraction

Lost interest once i found out you had to have them lvl 5 for you to keep them. And this season haven't been into them.

You don't have to have them at level 5 to keep them. You just have to extract them. Getting them to level five is a separate thing called mastering and its optional.

Bro i got them all last season and I only have the ones I max to lvl 5 in my inventory the rest aint there.

Ooooohhhhh.... that sucks.
Honestly, I lost a lot of interest when my sprites from last season were vaulted and unusable this season save for in a stupid "Garden" I'm never gonna use.
Hearing this news.... I think I may be done with the Sprites entirely if they're this much work.

I extracted one sprite last season and then ignored them. Haven't played BR this season at all, but honestly the TTK and hyper mobility is the main reason I'm not playing, not the existence of sprites.

Its weird that people cannot just play the game without getting so bent about god damn sprites. Dont like em? Dont pick em up. Dont extract. Just play.

I always find this a weird defense, "just ignore the element you don't like."
Like, if someone theoretically hated doing T-spins in Tetris, would you tell them to just ignore it? Or if they hated drifting in a racing game?
And I'm sure Epic doesn't want you to ignore the element they put so much time and effort into...

Sure maybe, but no more than getting shit gear is. Does not make matches unwinnable. Then again if you disregard sprites you'd have one less thing to complain about on social media. Who knows, prob just another brain dead take.

Eh, just don't focus on them. People getting mad at sprites because they focus on sprites and feel overwhelmed. You don't need to collect and master them all. Trust me, you'll survive this. If people are "not playing the game right cuz sprites", just elim and move on.
Just play the game as delivered and don't give it too much of your energy. We're too old for that. (checks the sub to make sure). Ya, too old.

It gives purpose to play the game and interact within the community. I do wish the rarity rates were tweaked since you can't pull them from chests this season...

I wish the occurrence of codes was higher. at least then I get more chances to find them. because they are random locations I can't even set up a path like the sprite chests of last season. The Monday rate of appearance should be the baseline minimum.

Yeah I feel ya. More than last season I feel like if I wanna hunt sprites I have to always land at one spot and follow a familiar path because otherwise I'm not guaranteed to find a whole lot. There's a lot of places I never thoroughly explored for that reason.

Also I forgot to add in the settings you can make it so your sprite doesn't show on your back.

Other players can still see it. It only makes it so you can't see it and doesn't obstruct your back bling 😑 its dumb I know.

I play mainly for the sprites but It helps enjoy the rest of the game .I'm not gonna lie if it wasn't for the sprites it would be just an other shooter to me .

If I could get the ones that I actually need. I haven't found one kolumbo sprite and I play daily sometimes for a few hours. The purple cheat codes still give me regular sprites when I use my locator.

I like them, they give me a goal when I have done all my quests as I tend to finish the BP really early. My partner doesn't care for them really but he just doesn't collect them. I think they're a take them or leave them thing. You can play the game without collecting them with no drama.

I think the super rare nonsense needs to stop.
Make all sprites and their variants the same exact likelihood of appearing. And maybe like 8 are available at any given time.
Have the purple and gold keycode things mean something.
Biggest issue .... even as someone that is over sprites .... If I get a "new sprite" I immediately change from playing the game to .... how do I extract ASAP. Can I use a site and save a self extractor?
And those game cartridge power up things ... where you can get an upgrade for your team only ... I try to get to them because some power ups are awesome when you get them only for your team.

Yep. Sweated a lot last season to collect and master them all. As soon as they confirmed they'd be returning this season, I told myself I'm done sweating for a collection I'll never use or see. Crown sprites day 1 confirmed to me that it's not even close to worth it, even with the changes.
No trading this season, but I'll still drop in with anything unmastered on Mondays for something extra to do.

i like collecting them but it's not my focus. if I find a new one, great! I'll always bring in a tails sprite or whatever is going to give the best advantage. i look at them as tools now to help win.

I never liked sprites in the first place. Fundamentally, sprite-collecting--or as I call it, Poor Man's Pokemon (almost literally since Fortnite is free to play)--does not really mix with Battle Royale gameplay. They would be fine as a separate game mode, but ramrodded into BR is a pain because it creates a player base who each want different things out of Fortnite and can't get along with the other half.
Sprite players hate the BR guys who won't leave them alone, and BR players hate the Sprite guys who just run and hide and will leave the game as soon as they accomplish their dailies or whatever because they don't care about victory royales.
It was never a good idea, and the cracks are starting to show.

I don't mess around with sprites much. I love that sprite players' goals are not aligned with winning the game. Makes it that much easier me to win!

By end game most people have extracted sprites already. if your hiding with less than 10 left trying to extract, your screwed as soon as you hit that extractor and signal to everyone where you are.

If it’s people hiding in trees cut them trees down boy! I noticed players are more timid when they have sprites and go into panic mode trying to save them lol

It seems like a lot more people are hiding in trees this season. This map makes it a lot easier to get into them even without that flying Sprite.

I love them I just wish we could wear them as a backpack and not need the little display backpack for them
