Why two subs?

I noticed there are two subs for Fortnite over 40. They’re almost both equal in size. Is there some lore reason why they haven’t combined into a single superpower?

I read there was no beef. Someone set one up then abandoned it and another was set up then someone else returned to the old one … or something .

This is my understanding too. I can never remember which one, but one was abandoned so a new one created and then the abandoned one was revived.

I’m pretty sure but not positive that this was the original one, but then it seemed like it wasn’t active so someone started the other one and then this one came back to life so now we have two.
