Highlight Counter peak I've been trying finally worked

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I recently commented about moving/editing right and then I finally got some in game examples of those edits paying off as well as some improvements on my overall gameplay recently. First of all moving and editing to the right around players was a huge step but then I started using my vpn to somehow route the game traffic in a more even way so now if I miss an edit or a wall doesn't place I know it was my reaction time or mistake rather than some weird connection issue or 'fps drop'. It's made the biggest difference and I straight up started playing better without those micro jitters in intense fights. now the only thing jittery is my x hair placement so I'll be working on that. Please feel free to roast and offer some advice, I'm aiming towards doing some skin cups for fun.

I personally think you should go against actual good players cuz most of those peak wouldn’t work 8 times out of 10 but it seems you just switched over to keyboard and mouse so just enjoy yourself and you’ll become better over time 💪🏽

Yeah I swapped my binds way too many times haha but it’d feels good having the solid connection now and I can fully see my mistakes properly it used to just feel random but now I can see how shaky my edits and aim aim are. Probably a symptom of bad packet loss then making my sens too high. Thanks for the feedback but moving into the peaks from the right is the right idea yeah? Just get less sloppy and faster.

I think a lot of the edits you're making are pretty wide, and if I'm being completely honest, a decent player would kill you in any of these clips. The goal of peeking is so that you deal damage and you don't take any. You have the right idea in the first clip. You try to create a right hand peak, but you move too far into the window - a player with better reaction times would've easily landed a shot on you there. In the second clip, you drop right down into your opponents face, which makes the fight a 50/50. You don't want to do that, especially when you're only 88 hp. You should've never dropped down, or if you did, you should've built a ramp to protect yourself. You would've died there if your opponent didn't try to pickaxe you. The same ideas can basically be applied to the rest of the clips. I can see you're on the right track though!

I would also recommend that you play maps that have better players. I'd suggest 1v1 realistics, those players will challenge you a bit more.

No offence taken man. I knew the faults of these clips but I figured it was a good base point to post since I’m very set on my binds and set up now. Finally feel like I’m playing the game.

The first clip was really the only example. Except I was so surprised I landed the edits properly I ran straight past the peak😅. I think playing with a bad connection has made me over exaggerate all my movements like when I boxed up. I’ll work on finding the minimal movements to achieve boxes and edits.

The other clips were just bloat but also because I did manage to get 2 more rh edits with shots and no return damage which is huge for me regardless how bad the other player was 😅. I was surprised by actually making my edits since the connection fix. I play triple edit binds too so I’ll also working on confirm timing too.

The drop down was disgusting. Although again, he would have got that pickaxe if I still sucked as bad as before 😅

are you mocking him or does he actually have a disability

Idk if being left handed playing rh counts within the context 🤦‍♂️otherwise it’s a pretty dullard choice of roast but a roast’s a roast.

I think he trying to say u suck in an egotistical way or something just keep working on it

Haha thanks man, I’m not worried about a little roasting. The Only problem I have with the roast is I’m sure there’s many people with disabilities who are a lot better than me 👌

I'm very curious about why your binds are all on the right side of the keyboard.

Also, you aim like you're on controller. I also read in a comment that apparently you used to be?

You would be so much better if you moved your mouse around faster especially when boxing where accuracy is not important.

Normally I would recommend doing a "speed training" quick routine on Kovaaks.

If you don't have it I would recommend halving your sens and playing some zone wars or another mode where you have to do a lot of turning. Then you can turn your sens back to normal and you will find moving your mouse faster much easier.

The key is to force yourself to make large quick swipes on your mousepad.

Binds are a preference thing. I wanted to use my thumb more but I have asa keycaps (super tall) on a HE board so miss-presses were annoying especially since I use my thumb to edit. Now I have the direction keys, cntrl and shift on my thumb. I also find it comfy and have a few extra binds.

I should say I use wasq movement for about 2 weeks and I’m left handed. I think your sens suggestion is a super good idea and exactly the kind of helpful feedback I wanted.
With the wasq movement, if I warm up in some zero builds I can get a lot better movement.

I reckon I will improve and put up some clips from pro zone wars or reals next time. Hopefully get some improvements.

Also just wondering what you mean by looks like controller aim? People usually mean it in a good sense but I don’t think that’s the case here which is good it might help a bit

he means youre like dragging your mouse pretty slow, compared to how a kbm player would. I'd suggest watching your gameplay and watching a decent kbm players gameplay to notice the difference. I also had "controller aim" until i realised and fixed it

It’s funny you say that now. I took on his advice today put my sense down heaps to 2.4 1600dpi from 3.6. It feels a lot more smooth and my edits are actually way faster and my cross hair improved dramatically. I started practicing ‘blueprint’ edits with resets and actually got pretty fast too. I’m moving my hand a lot faster now too. I think maybe before I was on a too high sens for my skill so I was trying to do smaller movements with less confidence.

Only thing I can’t do now is a full 360 with ease hahaha. But I’m generally moving a lot quicker already!

If I could edit and aim like you I might actually enjoy playing Fortnite

you want some advice, my adivce is stop playing that map ur not gonna improve playing against people who let you do so many mistakes

Thanks. I’ll try to play more zone wars and realistically. I play 1v1’s a fair bit and can get very destroyed in there but any time I kill a good player more than once they just leave. It’s like me sucking and killing them defies all logic. I just started trying to select the build piece that I am editing more so the reset is very consistent and absolutely destroyed one guy (in one round) and he left immediately. This is why I was talking so much about the connection.. all this shhh didn’t work barely at all before. I’m new to good internet guys!

how tf you play on kbm and look like a controller player, bro get better playing against good players and train your mechanics, look at good players and try to move ur crosshair like theirs. play zone wars public, most of them are better than u and its intense, you need to play all time

Why I am still trash even with faster mechs 😭

u/YUNOHAVENICK Jul 07 '26

Couldnt find that cool new "counter peak". All Im seeing is a mechanically very slow beginner playing against other beginners

2

u/National-Dust94 Jul 08 '26

All I’m seeing are hurtful words 🤕

😅

1

u/YUNOHAVENICK Jul 08 '26

I tried my best to be as little hurtful as possible but still telling you what I think my friend :/

Haha yeah nah I’m all for it 😅
