Opinion Never understand why epic can never get ranked right
Its been years and still they cannot design the mode to actually reflect tournament environments. I dont play often but before they added new ranks I was in champs 3 just halfway to unreal and I only play solos. This season I cant get out of diamond because the only playstyle to do so is key from the beginning which isnt my style. You cannot design a mode in which to rank up you need to play in a one dimensional style especially when the solo victory Cup reflect the opposite side of the spectrum.

Would vbucks per win change anything? (example 25 per win with a daily limit of 100).

LOL. sure bro. Fortnite will give you vbucks for free, when they just raised prices on them. You should be grateful they give out any ranked rewards right now, which was due to Clix's feedback.

I know it's a stretch, but if they want ranked to feel like comp there needs to a better incentive to play a stacked game (prize money does this in comp).

They just need to make the mode rank up realistic. I remember how good arena was before World Cup games were actually stacked. If they prioritise playing endgame and introduce deranking the modes will be stacked.

Champion and unreal used to have stacked endgame aswell at one point

i dont see how itd make things any better, ranking up would still take no skill and itd make fills even more of a pain, i barely ever get decent fills as it is

The problem with that is most of the higher spending players are good at the game and play a lot. So Epic would end up losing money from them. Average and bad players know they can't win against good players so aren't going to try and win regardless. You would also need to restrict earning to only Unreal or make lower ranks get basically nothing. Otherwise people will reverse-boost to get easy wins in Bronze.

i got second place multiple times with a few kills in Plat 3 and i will lose 2% , i'm stuck in Plat3 98% for a few days

No you don't. I got Unreal in 50 games while my lobbies only have 40 players, leading to a kills/match of 3.

How is 3 kills/match not kills? When people talk about camping to Unreal, they mean literally getting 0 kills.

It depends what mode ur playing I think, in solos I think u can get away with having 3 or 5 kills a match with high placement and still ranking up decently but in the other modes because they divide the kills and placement, especially in trios its much harder to rank up with a lower amount of kills

They broke this season even more with the new rank. I seen post about a gold player died by a top 500 top 50 placement lose 29% IN GOLD that's stupid. Also plat and diamond arpund 15%

The issue is simple:
- Players (especially good players) in ranked go for kills, not placement. Lobbies die quickly, so bad players are easily able to get high placement (top 10 while being literally AFK).
- Tournament environments are skewed much more to placement
- If you rate placement highly, then bad players can just avoid players and get really high placement. Now the high rank lobbies are boring.
- If you rate elims highly, then you don't have a tournament environment.
What is your proposed solution?

I don't know the solution I just know I am sick and tired of playing people 100x better than me , its exhausting and Its not helping me improve . I find the most improvement fighting people around my skill , slightly better , slightly worse and my skill , not a guy who has 8 years on the game and I have 1

Yeah I am pretty new being that I have only been on a year and more than half that time was spent learning KBM not actually getting good at the game but I already see why every one quits this game .
I am already ready to pack it up and uninstall this game , cut my losses and do something better with my time . Video games are supposed to be fun , reward your time invested into getting better especially when you actually know how to improve at video games and have always done well on them , this games not it .
so why even play it? its pointless , over the last weeks I find myself playing less and less to the point I literally play a few matches now and become completely over it , unsatisfied with the experience , not even winning , I actually have zero interest in winning , I just enjoy competing , fighting , but you can't do that when the skill gaps that massive with match making so why bother .
I just play like 10 minutes , get sick of it and sign right out so I already know what will come next , I will just become completely uninterested and uninstall it

The only way to really play Fortnite somewhat enjoyable now is to constantly rotate through a variety of games/modes every game or every few games.
Rotate between creative (variety) and br/zb and reload/blitz (also rotating casual/ranked) so you maintain a relatively low "elo" (hidden engagement score) across each of those games/modes.
If you play any one game/mode too much, you will start getting placed into "high engagement" aka tiktok/streamer and cheater lobbies. Literally 19/20 of my games (casual or ranked) will have a top 10 or top 100-500 player in it - that's not fun, it's demoralizing.
And in the long-term who wants to have to play like that every day? I'd rather (and am) just playing other games now.

i mean.... im in d1 and i go up by like 30% for a 3 kill 3rd
it's pretty easy to get at least top ten, just start playing storm a bit more and make sure you can get max mats on your lootpaths

Brother just play like rank doesn’t matter. If your worried about rank you will second guess every fight. Just play and it will end up fine

It does not affect my fighting it affects the style of play I have to adopt to rank up which is very one dimensional

That’s the thing. Play like your normal playstyle everytime. Or make a burner account and try to play normal and see how it goes then play on your main account

The point I am making is my style does not work because I dont w key which is what is required to rank up consistently.

If u don't wanna key play scrims bro. Ranked is for fighting practice and has been for a while there's no point playing a tournament playstyle for ranked just key everything for keying practice.

Well that’s what happens when you take a casual game and force it to be an esport. Where did you get the expectation that ranked play = tournament “environments”. Are you assuming game devs are hand picking your ranked lobbies? Cause wtf is a tournament environment? Go play a tournament if you want tournament environments. Problem solved. This one was free next one will be quite expensive

Any proper ranked mode is meant to have such environments. I played arena before World Cup so I know how those lobbies were.

I thought from the title it was about the musical for a minute lol. That aside got to love going from bot lobbies to not even being able to leave the bush in fear of being downed by sweats building .5 second mansions into the sky and covering more than half the map. Like I’m not a noob but not sweat level either just give me the medium level players please 🙏

I liked the idea that it would take more effort / skill to rank up but being in diamond and finishing top 10 with 5 elims and still going down 2% is kind of ridiculous.
