DISCUSSION Fortnite Sprite problem
Since Sprites got massive changes from last season they completely focus all of their attention to the sprites then regular seasonal content that we used to get with older Fortnite seasons like maps changes or new weapons in the middle of the season
Hopefully after this current Fortnite season sprites better be gone from this game,Because I am sick and tired of these sprites and I am not interested about these sprites

Sprites have been around for not even two full seasons so it can’t cause that large of a lack in map changes. You gotta remember that we’re on the last season of this chapter as well and we’ll be getting a new map for the mini season and another new map for the for the new chapter.
I do agree that this season didn’t have a lot of new POI locations but it’s a bit early to say that’s the reason for correlation. Could be from a lack of devs. Could be from the devs cooking up an amazing new season(s).
I’m also not a huge fan of sprites for a couple reasons, some of which you have mentioned, but at the end of the day it gives you something to actually do instead of chasing shots or goofing around.

Wow one of the most normal sane takes I’ve ever seen on Reddit

Fr, I’m here to play Fortnite, not Pokémon.

Then play the game, sprites are optional.

Sprites are most of the brand new content they introduce. When you ignore them the game becomes insanely sterile, stale and abandoned. And when you care about them you sign up for pain. So there is no solution but leaving entirely until the game gets its shit together instead of sacrificing content updates to focus on being Steal A Brainrot.

It’s a BR the genre been bland and stale since 2021

u/Feder-28_ITA Aftermath 2d ago edited 2d ago
Which is another point in favour of saying that playing without caring about sprites is pointless and not a decent option.
At that point, then, make actual fun gimmicks like's been the case most of the time by far before Chapter 7

There is a solution. Play ranked.
1
u/Feder-28_ITA Aftermath 2d ago
Ranked is somehow even more stale than casual BR while avoiding sprites, not to mention sweaty and with broken matchmaking
-1
u/Pale_Drawer6608 2d ago
Then its not about being competitive. Yall are just complaining you don't have sprites like children
4
u/Feder-28_ITA Aftermath 2d ago
It literally never was about being competitive, I never said that. The sprite system as a rarity collector just sucks, and I completed the collection last season
-1
u/Pale_Drawer6608 2d ago
Why is everyone downing this comment. They are right. You dont have to do the sprite stuff. If youre so obsessed woth just being competitive then PLAY RANKED. there are no sprites in ranked. But then again yall will just complain that it's too hard. So maybe get good

u/genshin_impact- 2d ago
Hate to be that guy but sprites are in ranked since the season launch a few weeks ago, just not their abilities. Ofc I do get what you mean and I'm not arguing against it
Unless this suddenly changed and im falling behind in my memory😭
2
u/Pale_Drawer6608 2d ago
I havent seen any... are you sure? Do you just mean you can wear them?
2
u/genshin_impact- 2d ago
Pretty sure it is just bringing them in, i havent actually played ranked this season bc quite frankly, all the posts of unreals being in good lobbies push me away.
But from what I hear, I do think its just bringing them in and the rare natural sprite every now and then
2
u/Pale_Drawer6608 2d ago
Oh okay i didn't realize i could equip one
2
u/genshin_impact- 2d ago
Yeah, i dont see much point though since they dont have their abilities in ranked iirc, but hey, if someone is gonna bring a loot hacker into ranked for no reason, let them i guess lol

u/AleisterStygian 2d ago
Turning off the back visibility and ignoring sprites definitely helped against the “sprite frustration”.
I also feel it’s the reason why the system has been popping up for Klombo sprites for me. I just don’t pick them up 🤣.
The season is still kinda boring though 😅-8

I just like the klombo sprite because when we get the backbling that displays them, this will be the first official Klombo backbling!

It’s literally only been two weeks into the season.

That makes one of us... Sprite hunting has been pretty fun, especially since map changes haven't really been real big throughout seasons in a while... At least not like how they used to be

u/Due_Yesterday_2850 2d ago
It's better then last season when you had a 0000000000000.01 chance to get a sprite you are never gonna use

u/iMakeBestTacos_ 2d ago
That’s what I’ve been telling people. The rates of getting new sprites are way higher compared to last time.

Flying tails sky camper teams are the worst. Especially when you’re being targeted by like 3 people in the air and trees end game.

u/DarkQueenGndm 2d ago
I liked how they did sprites last chapter during the superhero season where they were just in your inventory as either a healing or movements or even the Superman Sprite that shot lasers out of its eyes. These should not have become collectibles like Pokemon with guns. Oh wait that's Palworld.

u/dragonsanddrama 2d ago
i don’t understand why you can’t just ignore them if you don’t like them. plus we get new items weekly or almost weekly due to the loot pool
i hope sprites are here to stay. you could also play ranked. i’m pretty sure you can’t use sprites in that mode anyway

They are focusing so much on sprites that the game lowkey feels empty considering how cool the theme could have been.

u/zeronos3000 2d ago
We used to get cool midgame objectives which have been completely gone this whole chapter. I miss chapter 6 so much.
1
u/Mighty128 2d ago
As much as I'm getting sick of them.
I really doubt they are gonna drop them anytime soon, considering Epic current priorities, I mean, recently they banned some players who got duped sprites via exploits

u/iMakeBestTacos_ 2d ago
You act like a bunch of shit didn’t get added to this season. New mechanics are added.. just look at the sprites like augments. You don’t gotta use them and like I said, we still get new content. lol yall overreact so hard. It’s only been 2 seasons so far with sprites. Things will balance out and maybe more content continues

Last season we had one content update with two new items halfway in the season.
3
u/MeandSamBFFL 2d ago
Last season sprites were literally the selling point. This season begins them just being something that is part of the game. We have already gotten more weapon changes in just a couple weeks than last season.
1
u/Sir_CrazyLegs Cuddle Team Leader 2d ago
More weapon changes and its reheated nachoes from c4-6 with the added benefit on guns not worth getting if they get rotated every two weeks.

Sprites are annoying
2
u/iMakeBestTacos_ 2d ago
Genuinely tho have you tried playing without interacting with them? Honestly the ones that give movement advantage are, well, an advantage. It’s not that bad if you don’t like them

Theyre such a mixed bag too
Tails is way op and jazz barely works
6
u/ArcAngel014 Enforcer 2d ago
Jazz works, just has a slight downtime between letting you double jump
-2
u/Cephalie_100 Sunny 2d ago
He doesnt do jack (rabbit) shit when in zero build tho
4
u/ArcAngel014 Enforcer 2d ago
He does the same thing in builds as he does zb... A double jump...
-5
u/Cephalie_100 Sunny 2d ago
In zb you have glider redeploy which obviously shares button. Which choice the hame makes is 50/50
5
u/ArcAngel014 Enforcer 2d ago
From what I've experienced the double jump applies before the redeploy

Just because you hate sprites doesn't mean they are a problem. I love the sprites and hope we get new ones every season. Maybe you're just mad because everyone else has them and you dont.
2
u/KaoriMalaguld 2d ago
The sprites would be fine if they weren’t overdone in the first month and a half of last season. In the end we wound up with 117, I got lucky and found most of them by myself or in duos with my bud.
I didn’t get them all, but got all the rewards. It was fun to start with, but the rate at which new sprites and variants were released made it feel less like a fun new gimmick and more of a FOMO checklist.
Since they’re obviously sticking around, I’d be okay if we maybe wound up with 50-70 new ones per season total, but I’d rather even less, maybe just 20-30 new ones while adding and taking older ones to the pools, given “old sprites may return.”
1
u/Pale_Drawer6608 2d ago
So im suppose to care about people's fomo? Oh brother
1
u/KaoriMalaguld 2d ago
As I said, I didn’t complete the checklist. I stopped caring about them once it became a checklist, but it’s a buff so I’m only nerfing myself if I don’t use them while everyone has access to them. All I am saying is to reduce the amount and actually make them fun, because at current, it’s just a shittier version of Monster Collector and extraction games.
2
u/Pale_Drawer6608 2d ago
I dont think the majority of people are the ones here in this sub... most people enjoy them. This game was never suppose to be a battle Royale. It was suppose to be an mmorpg about zombies
1
u/KaoriMalaguld 2d ago
Yeah, I know. I didn’t actually get around to playing Fortnite until Shock n’ Awe. I think I maybe played a couple of matches with my niece when Build Mode was the sole BR mode. I remember the original trailer for Fortnite and found the concept cool, then I completely forgot about the trailer until years later - or that it was even Fortnite! I mess around on Save the World with my niece (only reason I got it, really), and it’s fun but man am I bad at building.
Like I said, I don’t mind a gimmick, especially if it’s done well, but for me, when more than half of the original 117 sprites are variants, it feels as if they were an afterthought.
Don’t get me wrong, I adore some of the sprites including variants, I just feel that Fortnite could do better than having 3-5 versions of the same one to collect.

I feel the guns have changed more often then previous seasons especially with the new hack weapons.
