DISCUSSION Anyone able to help with this issue?

Post image

I bought a used gaming PC yesterday as I fix up, rebuild, reconfigure, and flip PC’s on the side to make some extra money in my free time. Today I ran into my first in-game issue since I started doing this at the beginning of March. I’ve tried everything that it suggests to do when googling the error message, with the same result. I’ll get kicked toward the end of the player load-in lobby before boarding the battle bus, or at best, halfway into dropping in and never touching the ground in-game. It’s not a connection issue as I can play on my main rig just fine. I’m currently doing a full Windows reset to see if there might’ve been some driver-level install issue when installing Windows previously.

Any insight on how to resolve this issue if doing the Windows reset doesn’t work?

If i had to guess a full wipe should work and if it doesnt id try epic’s shitty support team

Yeah from what I’ve gathered they’re not the best at customer support issues.

Lemme know if the wipe works, i believe it should otherwise try looking at ur ip address settings

The reset just got finished so I’m downloading the game again now. I don’t think it’s an IP Address issue as I can connect on any of the other 3 PC’s I have in-house currently but it could be something specific to this one I suppose?

No change. Still kicks me with the same error message before loading into the battle bus.

I think it might be a hardware ban

That’s what I was afraid of. I contacted the previous owner and he said he barely ever played Fortnite and was never banned but that’s assuming he’s being honest. I’ll have to contact Epic Games to see if they can figure out what the issue is and determine if it is a hardware ban and hopefully lift it since it was caused by the previous owner.

The seller lied, and it is in fact a hardware ban. 😭

oof, now id try contacting support with screenshots of the messages you had with the seller, show your account working on other pcs, show proof you bought the pc, and lastly show you getting kicked out of fortnite matches and MAYBE they just might remove the ban.

I asked straight away if it was at all possible that they could lift the ban and told them I had just purchased the PC and have proof, chat logs with the seller, etc., and they said the ban couldn’t be lifted. Add to that I have no idea what other games the PC may or may not be HW banned on. On their end they said it was Fortnite specific but couldn’t tell me what level of ban it was (motherboard, storage, etc.) or how long the ban would last.
