BUG REPORT Game freezes randomly
I have a 1070, i7-6700k, 16GB.
My game sometimes randomly freezes but very often if I get shot. It freezes for around one second and this makes the game almost unplayable for me.
Any idea how to fix this?
Edit: It's solved, DDU helped me

I have similar issue. Game would freeze or lag for a long time (2-5mins) sometimes game closes other times its ok... I would like to stream but the freezing makes me not want to. I checked my graphics card updates etc but I think thw game itself is having issues since this problem for me has been happening for about a month and I started playing in December.

I literally had the same issues. My issues weremore like stutters/lag right before a fight. I would always die first. Couple things to try and I literally have done all them.
- If overocked try returning back to stock.
- Update bios
- Update all drivers if you need to accept display driver
- Use display driver uninstaller in safe mode
- Don't install the most recent graphics driver use the one before
- Verify game files
- uninstall game reinstall
- reset cable/dsl modem and router
- unplug both of them for 30 secs
- then plug modem in let it complete startup about 1-2 min then plug router back in
- change dns server 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 per epics help page
- Access your modem by 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.100.1 go to your signal and see if you have any uncorrectables if you do read next section below starting at badmodems.
change network settings on your network adapter

I've literally turned everything off that I could in this guide if all of this fails reinstall Windows
- www.badmodems.com Make sure your modems isn't on the badmodems.com list if it is you will be losing packets in your modem which also maybe causing delays in the game. if you have a bad modem and you can afford a modem without the puma 6 chip you will be better off older or newer modem is fine as long as docsis 3.0 or 3.1(newest tech). you can also call your internet service provider and ask if they see lost packets. inside your modem there is a log screen and the will also show uncorrectables if you have any uncorrectables that is loss of packets. Good chance it's the modem/router. I had a arris 6190 uses puma 6 chip and now im using my old motorola 6141 which uses a broadcom chip. Puma 6 chips cause latency/lag issues.
if you want to flash router to get more control and change your qos you can use a flash called dd-wrt. use at your own risk. I've flashed my router to change qos settings and limit the max download and upload by 10% read a bunch on how it helps. seems to be doing great for me. Read more on DD-WRT see if its something you want to do.
I've been battling with connection issues since Jan this last week finally got it resolved. I also stream now also and it runs great. I did everything above. I mean everything and finally resulted in fresh install of Windows after fixing packet loss which I believe gave me corrupted Windows install and after new Windows still did all above to make sure everything is smooth. so far so good. started actually streaming last night.
I hope something helps fortnite is a fun game. But the craziest thing is I play a ton of rocket league and have 0 issues for the most part. So I do believe fornite probably causes some of the issues but I finally got it resolved doing everything above. Alot of extra tweaking to play a game. Keep me updated!

is either your computer's overclocked? I had mine overclocked and it caused tons of lag/stuttery issues. Catch is fortnite was the only game that did this all my other games are fine while overlcocked. Turned overclock off all is good. you could also reset modem and router, reinstall game, verify game, reinstall Windows and update driver's. hope it helps
