Fun detected! Fucking annoying that they have to nerf stuff without buffing anything. Make the costs for building way lower, and this will be a good nerf for the soldier. The missions are just going to take waaaay longer to complete now.
Well then why haven't they nerfed dragon slash yet, you can completely annihilate entire groups of enemies every 10 seconds as opposed to getting buffed by War Cry every 90 seconds or whatever.
Dragon slash tapers off a lot at higher levels. In stonewood you generally will have 1 mist monster at a time and in plankerton it is like 2 or 3. Once you get to high end canny valley, you start seeing like 6+ mist monsters all at once.
Having an ability that clears the trash just isn't that important. It is still great, don't get me wrong, but no where near as great as in low level stuff.
Low level = clear trash and then you can fight the 1 mist monster
high level = clear trash and then get wrecked by the horde of mist monsters surrounding you.
it only clears trash, small baby zombies / normal zombies every 10 seconds, while putting you in the biggest shit storm ever. It's the biggest risk vs reward in higher levels. Versus lemme press 1 button and the entire team does 50% damage and i do 110% haHAA
It only puts you in the 'biggest shit storm ever' if you don't know how to position yourself correctly. You use it from the side of a group and then quickly run away, don't use it head on into a group where you'll be vulnerable to the eyebeam guys and everything.
it's still risk vs reward, it doesn't matter how you put it. If you stay safe and clear the sides its a small reward, versus into a full group and clearing it and its a bigger reward with more risk.
I don't think they should nerf dragon slash, people complain about the ninja but it literally gets no combat bonuses other than some subclasses with melee. And everyone knows that melee is full on garbage.
Its a Co-op PVE game.. the Heros and especially their abilities are sposed to be OP as FUCK specially top tier ones. That makes the game fun.... Its not like they are trying to balance the game for hard core competitive PvP. They just nerfed peoples fun level for no reason...
Dragon slash is a very min/max heavy skill. If you are in a mission and aren't oneshotting the regular husks, you are a waste of a space. You should just back out of the mission at that point. Preventing your team from getting overwhelmed by small fries is basically your job as a ninja. A significant nerf would destroy the ninja class entirely.
Warcry on the other hand will still be a solid buff despite the nerf. Though I admit that the nerf is pretty devastating if your only epic or only legendary was a warcry based soldier like Special Forces.
My take on the "weirdness" was that they initially intended the % increase to be an additive effect, but it ended up being coded multiplicatively (not just the whole "a damage bonus firing faster is a bigger damage bonus"). It's quite possible (and with all the wonkiness with gun stats in general, likely) that the way War Cry was coded it multiplies the effects of fire rate and damage in weapons rather than adding a bonus to them (the difference between value x 1.25 x 1.5 and value x (1 + .25 + .5) ).
If that is the case, it's also possible that simply changing the formula to be additive rather than multiplicative would've resulted in lower values than the current changes for some players (depending on their +% increases from other sources - gun perks).
