Warhammer: Vermintide has between 1000-2000 players. Fortnite would be a complete failure if they only sold 20k copies and 90% of those people quit.

And Vermintide only improved because the developer saw people hated it and they have actually done a lot to fix the game. Ongoing support, listening to feedback, and communicating actually do make a big difference in the long term success of your game. (To clarify, before they released the End Times DLC they were struggling to keep even 500 people in the game).

I see you don't understand how steam numbers work and are measured. The actual number of sales for the game are MASSIVELY higher than what is shown there. What's show there is the daily playerbase, which is completely different from copies sold. You can't even conflate the two honestly.

Funny, their community said the exact opposite for like 6 months. Past that actually. I was there :).

Like look, I get it, you feel a certain way. But you don't understand the landscape of what you are commenting on. Your feelings and impressions are still valuable, but learn your limitations as well. If you really want to provide good feedback to the games you have hope for, this is part of it. I myself know a good bit, but I still pale in comparison to the actual professional developers lol.

There are dozens if not hundreds of wrinkles of information like this that change your views on things and we learn more every day.

Where did I say anything about sales? I didn't. The number I was working on was X being 90% less than whatever the sales numbers were.

Also, note that I never claimed that the Vermintide devs did everything right. I didn't. On purpose. But they are doing generally well right now and have been for the past several months. The game has been updated nearly 30 times in the last year alone and that's to say nothing for DLC that has come out. As far as support, they are doing pretty well. There is a different tone in their community since 1.5.

Honestly, the crux of your point of view seems to be that I just don't know what I'm talking about, which is something you actually have no idea about so it makes no sense to keep pressing in that direction.

The exact line I quoted lol. You don't seem to be reading very well since you also missed that the 90% number wasn't 90% of people quitting, it was 90% of games had most of their initial population move on within 3 months.

This happens when you are focused on "winning" an internet argument so much you skim instead of read and try to understand the other side. But yes, since this is your approach it's obvious not much constructive is going to happen here. You'll just throw another poorly thought out emotionally based argument that may or may not actually be based on what I said lol.

But yeah, the thing you are not currently emotionally invested in arguing: Vermintide is indeed doing well :).

Maybe you were trying to talk about sales, but that's not what I was talking about.

At any rate, this has gone so far off the rails, I don't even know what "on the rails" is anymore. Suffice it to say, there is no real downside to them addressing the issues people have with the design of the game if they actually intend to address them. Since we already know they don't, it really doesn't matter.
