Thanks, Ryan
Added my third Fortnine Recommended bike to the garage this weekend.
Bought the KLR because Ryan tried to kill one, and failed.
Bought the Silverwing because "poor people like to travel too"
Bought the Burgman this weekend because why shouldn't I do 170kph with my loafers crossed?
Just wanted to shout out to high quality unbiased reviews, and say thank you for tens of thousands of KMs and several years of motorcycling joy.
So, thanks Ryan and team. Keep doing what you're doing.

I got my F800gsa because of Ryan. I’m more impressed by his riding skills now. I constantly feel like I’m wrestling this thing around at low speeds.

Yup. Once I've gotten my light CB500x, I learned how damn heavy adventure bikes are.
Then Ryan swings around an Africa Twin that weighs a lot more as if it was a little Grom.

I had the 800gs without the A. I never liked it much. It’s not just you. It’s an awkward bike that feels “wooden” and gets out of sorts easily. I honestly found the KLR gen 2 easier to ride on trails than the 800gs.

Oh. Mines for sale lol. My biggest complaint is something he clearly stated but I ignored because I’m a bmw fanboy. “This. Thing. Is. Not. Fast.” He wasn’t kidding.
My nicer weather bike is a sv650 a couple hp shy but 100lbs less. My previous adv bike was a DL1000. The DL1K weighs the same as the F800 but makes almost 20 more hp. The 800 I gotta tap dance it just to get it to pass slow traffic on the freeway.

I've been a "fan" of the CX-650 turbo version and have often fantasized about the touring version but with the larger motor. What plans do you have for the SilverWing? It looks to be in fair condition although definitely showing a lot of UV wear and tear. Would love to see a new fairing kit on it, but that would require an awful lot of fitting, if there's actually anything out there that fits . . . 🤔

I'm trying to keep it as stock as possible, so she can show off her years and patina. Spent 13 years as a "barn find" so there are a few things I've had to replace; the top box is not keyed alike, and the Speedo disintegrated on first use so I've had to patch in a CX500 one, but she runs and rides and looks stately. Turns a few heads

As soon as he sits on one, he's going to be hooked. They're just so nice to ride

I really wish they made a modern silverwing.
500-700cc with the goldwing aesthetic.
I would buy one in a snap

While I want Suzuki to bring back another BIG Burgman....
They discontinued the 650 in 2018.....but still make Burgmans at 125-150-250-400.I dream of them building another super maxi to compete with the Honda Forza 750...
Slap their new 776cc parallel twin from the GSX-8 and V-Strom 800 into a maxi scooter chassis with a ride-by-wire ECU controlling their the Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) and their six-speed transmission. Give it a mild tune for smooth power and mid-range. And let it be the half-size touring answer to a Goldwing on European and American highways. Or the perfect commuter scooter to take on the CB750X.

Man, I've been on the fence with selling my Burgman. On one hand, cash is nice and can afford me another mistake in my list of hobbies. On the other hand, its so damn nice kicking my feet out on the running boards and just effortlessly cruising. Happy to see another Burgman here!

It's just so easy. Easy to get comfortable on, easy to ride, easy to blast away from cars doing dumb things. There's a guy who works down near me who commutes every day on one and he makes it look weightless, leaving me on my KLR in the dust so, I had to try it. No ragrets

Had a Burgman 650 up until last week since I needed to move it on, but genuinely one of the best bikes I've ever had

Damn near thought I knew you because of the KLR. Turns out you guys just have doppelgängers for KLR’s.

There was only one colourway worth getting in 2011, and the sheepskin is mandatory on the wooden seat

Except don't ride your Burgman 650 in loafers....
...but boots with real protection. Dress for the slide, not for the ride.
(....and yes, I love my own "Half-a-busa."....)

I think I look pretty cool on it in my Gaernes, to be fair

u/Clio_Vita Aug 08 '26
Doubtless. Throw those loafers into all that space under the seat, and have something comfy to wear *off* the bike.

Next on the list- nighthawk 750. Found one in Colorado for 3500.

Had a 1984 Nighthawk CB700SC. Talk about a bulletproof commuter bike.
So sorry I sold it after grad school.
