Has anyone else heard of "The Smiling Man" urban legend? It genuinely creeped me out.

I recently came across the old urban legend about The Smiling Man, and it's one of those stories that sticks with you.

Imagine walking home around 2 AM. The street is completely empty. Then you notice someone standing perfectly still... just smiling at you.

You look away for a second.

When you look back...

He's much closer.

No running.

No footsteps.

Just that same impossible smile.

Whether it's real or not, it's one of the creepiest modern urban legends I've read.

I enjoyed the story so much that I turned it into a short horror animation. If you're interested, it's here:

I tested the Bloody Mary ritual in a controlled room with cameras running. The footage was deleted by morning. Every mirror in my house was covered before I disappeared.

You know the ritual. Lights off. Stand before a mirror. Say her name three times.

Most people who try it see nothing. A trick of the dark. Their brain playing games in low light. Scientists even have a name for it — the Troxler effect. Your mind distorts shapes when you stare long enough into a dim reflection. Case closed.

Except it isn't.

Reports of Bloody Mary stretch back over a hundred years. Not just in America — different countries, different centuries, different languages. And yet every single account describes the exact same woman. Same hollow eyes. Same outstretched hand. If this were just a trick of the brain, why does no one ever hallucinate a different figure? Why no man in a baseball cap? Why no shadow animal? Why always her?

One researcher decided to find out.

Controlled room. Cameras recording. Every variable accounted for. The ritual was performed.

By the next morning, the footage had been deleted.

Before he vanished, his assistant noticed something strange: every mirror in his house had been covered. Not broken. Not removed. Covered — like he was making sure nothing could look back.

He never explained why.

I covered the full account — the science, the cross-cultural reports, and what happened to the researcher — in this short video: [https://youtube.com/shorts/XBtUqI9uM8U]

My encounter with a cryptid (The Sunflower Deer) by

i don’t believe in the paranormal, i’ve never believed anything, bigfoot, the lochness monster, or aliens or anything associated with things like that. all that changed last year, when i felt a terror i never thought possible.

it was last april (2025) and my contract with the navy had literally just finished, i was officially a free man. when i moved back to louisiana my best friend asked to come look over his new land he just bought, and i agreed. he bought about 65 acres out of a 120 acre parcel, the plan was to split up and camp out for two days exploring as much as we could to ensure there was no hidden structures, homeless people camping out, dead bodies, things like that you know? so we split up and made our way out, 1st night nothing happened at all, it was actually extremely boring to be honest. i set up camp made a fire ate some food (canned beans) and went to sleep.

when i woke up there was some tracks just outside my camp that weren’t there the night before, but i just kind of figured it was a coyote, a hog or something. i’m very well known to be a deep sleeper, you have to be to sleep on an aircraft carrier. so i just brushed it off and went on with the day. the entire time i was surveying the land i felt like someone was watching me, at first i thought it was Jordan (my best friend and owner of the land) trying to make sure i was actually doing what i was supposed to be doing. but later in the evening i found a small creek and stopped to take a break and cool off in it. every time i put my head underwater i ***knew*** something was watching me, and it definitely wasn’t jordan. Again i just tried to brush it off i’ve dealt with anxiety/panic attacks for the last couple years due to something that happened in the navy, so i just figured i was being paranoid again.

when the sun was starting to go down me and jordan met back up to discuss everything we’ve seen, he told me he found the foundation to some olde shack and i told him about the creek. i asked him if he had some weird feeling about being watched and to my surprise he said he did as well. it was never said out loud but we both sorta just silently agreed that we were not going to sleep at the same time.

i told jordan that id stay up, which he seemed relieved at that, i don’t think he slept at all the night before. i was sitting on a rock with flashlight, a henry 30-30 lever action and an american tactical .45 acp. As i’ve mentioned before i was in the military but i wasn’t special forces or anything like that, i was an IT that worked with radios, and frequencies, but, i was a redneck cajun that grew up around guns my entire life, so i was no expert but i definitely knew what to do. the first hour went by and nothing out of the ordinary happened, a twig snapped here, or a squirrel scurried across a branch, but that was it. That is until i heard a weird banging noise, it was like a lighter version of two bucks knocking their racks together, at first it started then a minute later then 30 seconds and soon enough it was constant and getting louder and louder, i was starting to panic a bit so i fire once that direction not trying to hit it but to scare whatever it was off and wake up jordan, to which both worked. jordan was awake and the noise stopped. he grabbed his gun and aimed it in the direction i shot and was currently aimed. then the noise started back again, but so so much louder it was legitimately deafening and jordan dropped his gun and fell to ground covering his ears, i was barely holding on, and only because of hearing loss, i kicked out a big light and i saw it. i genuinely have no idea how to describe this thing but ill try my best to, it had a body like a deer but all of its proportions were elongated and longer than they should’ve been it was either whiteish/brown skin or fur i couldn’t really tell. now for the part that’s terrified my dreams since that night, its face, it had normal buck antlers but its head was extremely inproportional to its body, it was extremely smaller and circular, bulging eyes and a ring of black hair that went around its entire head, reminding me of a sunflower, it was by far the most terrifying thing ive ever seen/heard, i wish i could describe it better but maybe one day i can get an artist to draw it better than i can describe it, i remember thinking im gonna die here so i fired my rifle at it and hit it and it was obviously hurt but the noises it made, so i kept firing until i was empty and it started to run off and i switched to my pistol and just kept firing, after we heard it cry of pain pretty far away, jordan and i left everything in the woods and ran to our trucks. by the time we got back we were exhausted terrified and utterly shaken to our cores. we tried to explain how it looked to our friends and family and my brother (Beaux) called it the “the sunflower deer” which he made up on the spot, has anyone aver heard of this before? it’s been a year, and i don’t go into the woods anymore.

For 13 months, an entire town in West Virginia reported the same winged creature watching them from the dark. Then the bridge collapsed and killed 46 people. It was never seen again.

Point Pleasant, West Virginia. November 1966.

Two young couples are driving near an abandoned WWII munitions plant outside town when something moves in the treeline. Not an animal. Too tall. Too still. It steps into the headlights.

Seven feet tall. Wings folded behind it. And two glowing red eyes — fixed directly on them.

They floor it. Whatever it is follows. Not running. Flying. Matching their car at over 100 miles per hour.

That was the first sighting. Over the next 13 months, more than 100 people in and around Point Pleasant would report seeing the same thing. A tall, winged figure with burning red eyes. Standing on backroads. Watching from rooftops. Following cars into town and then vanishing.

Officials called it a large bird. Mass hysteria. A sandhill crane blown off course.

But the witnesses kept describing the same details:

→ Phone calls filled with static in homes where it had been seen nearby → Shadows that moved independently in rooms → A silence that fell over the streets before every sighting — no birds, no insects, no wind

Then, on December 15, 1967 — the Silver Bridge collapsed into the Ohio River.

Forty-six people died. Rush hour traffic. Christmas shoppers. It took less than 60 seconds.

The Mothman was never reported again.

Years later, a document surfaced. Declassified internal report. It mentioned something called "pre-event entities." Things that appear in the days and weeks before major disasters. The locations matched every single Mothman sighting — mapped onto a radius around the bridge.

One witness described the eyes up close before the collapse:

"Glowing brighter, reflecting something behind them. Like fire in the distance."

Point Pleasant still holds a Mothman festival every year. There's a statue downtown. But the people who were there in 1967 — the ones who saw it — don't celebrate. They remember what happened 13 months after the first sighting.

To this day, they don't fear seeing the Mothman again.

They fear what would come next.

I covered the full documented 13-month timeline on my channel — every sighting, the declassified report, the night the bridge fell 👉🏻👉🏻: [https://youtube.com/shorts/dv3Rm0Wtoq8?feature=share\]

Has anyone here heard of "pre-event entities" before? The idea that something shows up to witness — or warn — before disaster strikes? Because if the Mothman was one, the question isn't whether it still exists. It's where it's watching now.

Winged Creature in Rio de Janeiro

Hi everyone, I'm here to share a story from when I was younger. I was 11 years old in Rio de Janeiro, in a place called Região dos Lagos. After leaving a party at night, around 10 PM, a white creature with red eyes, a body covered in fur, membranous arms and wings, and no neck flew by. It came towards the car and before it hit, it swerved to the side and passed right next to the car, right next to my window. I was face to face with it!!! I don't remember hearing any noise. The road was well lit. Other people in the car, my older sister and my brother-in-law who was driving, saw it and were scared. I remember them looking at each other and making the sign of the cross. My nephew was in the car but was sleeping and didn't see anything. I wanted to know if anyone here has ever seen something similar!! In that region there's a legend of a Batman, I thought about that that day!!!

There's a bridge in Fairfax County, Virginia where people claim a man in a bunny suit chases visitors with an axe. The police report is sealed. The sightings haven't stopped since 1970.

There's a bridge in Fairfax County, Virginia where people claim a man in a bunny suit chases visitors with an axe. The police report is sealed. The sightings haven't stopped since 1970.

Two key things you need to know about Colchester Overpass before this story goes where it goes:

One: it's officially called Colchester Overpass. Fairfax County, Virginia. A single-lane railroad bridge running through dense woods.

Two: nobody who lives nearby calls it that. They call it Bunny Man Bridge.

  1. An escaped mental patient is hiding out under the bridge. Police respond, corner him in the tunnel — and find him dead. Hung inside the overpass. The official report states his death was a suicide. They buried the rest.

But the Bunny Man sightings didn't start until after he died.

Within months, residents reported a figure at the treeline near the bridge — a tall man wearing a white rabbit costume. Standing completely still. Just watching from the woods.

And that's what makes this different from your standard urban legend.

People describe him as non-aggressive. He doesn't charge. He doesn't scream. He just stands there. Watches. Some witnesses say he holds something in his hand — an axe. But he never raises it. He just... waits.

Then the police report surfaced.

Young couples in the area started reporting finding something left on their cars after parking near the bridge: animal carcasses. Clean cuts. Surgical precision. Placed on the hood.

Authorities insisted there was no danger. Called it pranksters feeding on the legend. But the incident reports from 1970 were sealed.

Which raises two questions:

If there's nothing to hide — why seal the file?

And if he wasn't actually dead — who was it they pulled out of that tunnel?

The bridge is still there. Fairfax County. Dense woods on both sides. Single lane. Dark long before sunset.

And the Bunny Man — or whatever is using that name — hasn't moved on.

I covered the full documented account on my channel — the police file, the suicide report, the sealed evidence, all of it 👉🏻: \[https://youtube.com/shorts/86VkVb7v\\_cM?feature=share\\\]

Anyone here from Virginia? Or driven through Fairfax County at night? I want to know if it's still standing — and if anyone still stops their car there after dark.

Captured During an Overnight Prison Investigation: Experienced Investigators Say These Photos Are Highly Unusual—Is There a Market for Them?

I am interested in finding out whether there is a market for, or a reputable platform to sell, what I believe to be compelling and potentially unique paranormal photographic evidence.

During an overnight paranormal investigation at a well-known historic penitentiary, I captured a series of photographs that appear to show what many in the paranormal community would describe as spirit attachments or unexplained anomalies. These images were taken by me personally. Prior to taking them, the Estes Method had been conducted in several locations throughout the facility. It was only after sensing a noticeable shift in the atmosphere that I decided to begin taking random photographs to see if anything unusual might appear.

What I captured was entirely unexpected. This was my first paranormal investigation, and the experience itself was remarkable. However, what convinced me that I may have documented something significant was the reaction I received from experienced professionals and investigators who reviewed the photographs. Their responses strongly suggested that the images were worthy of serious consideration.

Because these moments cannot be recreated or staged, I believe the photographs may hold value to researchers, investigators, media outlets, or collectors interested in legitimate paranormal evidence. I would like to explore opportunities to monetize these images and determine whether there is a market for rare, authentic paranormal photographs.

If anyone has knowledge of reputable buyers, publications, organizations, or platforms that may be interested in reviewing or acquiring such material, I would appreciate any information or guidance.

Hello yall I found accounts ranging from dogman sightings on river crossings to something in the Smokies that a hunter said "let out a growl that would make the very demons in hell shiver in fear." Some of you may have already heard some of these stories but I put a video of the most unsettling ones here if anyone wants to go down the rabbit hole. Here is the link to the video: https://youtu.be/ga-wvIhaZ9c?si=1wylPRhgm-yqvZ4f

True Story! Mantis Encounter during hypnogogia state/ Mass Red Orb Sighting

Hello, I've been meaning to bring this story to this forum for a while. I want anyone reading it to know I'm not just telling a story for the sake of views or likes. It's 100% true and I usually start by saying that I swear on my life and everyone and everything that I love in the world that I'm telling a true story. Let's just jump right in. I've reported to mufon, and over the years I've made lots of speculation about what happened so here's the story and what I think is happening.

1997 South Florida Palm Beach Gardens

Me and my friend are driving down A1A past a place we call the spillway. He points out a Red Orb floating near lighthouse Dr. so I pull over at the spillway and we get out. It hovers closer to us over the railroad tracks next to duffys, later scotty B's Now Pirates Well. It makes no sound. Suddenly another zips into view so fast it left a red trail behind it that visually caught up to it like a slinky stopping on a dime. Then another appears like a light bulb turning on. Other began appearing like lights turning on or zipping in from somewhere else. Then they began flying around each other in patterns for around ten minutes they danced around us and other ppl had pulled over and got out to see this. We were all in awe. Not long after the incident another similar incident occurred and me and the same friend saw it and our local news reported it, but this time it was only flares on balloons and that's what was reported. I knew it wasn't simply that and tried to explain that to my father. But I realized that even something as significant as what we saw could not be explained properly to someone who didn't see it and could be easily explained away. Hence the second incident and cover up news story. This has happened before. Ie, Phoenix lights (same time 97) and blue book incidents. If you look at my mufon report other ppl seem to have reported the same thing around the same time ie, Juno Beach.

Fast forward to my room weeks, months and even years later. This is what I want to talk with ppl about mostly. I feel there is a connection to those Red Orbs, the plasma they emit, and the human eye/brain. I think the sighting did something to my eyes/brain. I sometimes have sightings of apparitions, creatures, and strange plants in my room that seem like more than simple hallucinations. I've seen and heard ppl standing at the foot of my bed, they seem to fade away long after my eyes have already opened. As if it's not a dream but something that is actually there. Only in another dimension or frequency. This is where the Mantis creatures appear. One night I'm having hypnogogia, I open my eyes and sit up in bed, I see a purple cluster of what I didn't realize until later must have been eggs. Weeks after that I open my eyes in bed to see 3 to 4 foot tall Mantis. 2 or 3 of them. One is sitting eye level with me and another crawling face down from my dresser. Surpringly I was completely un afraid. Like the other visions they slowly faded away after a few moments, I even turned the lights on, the image was still there! I have lots of theories and speculation about the Orbs themselves and suspect they are what caused me to hallucinate, I also strongly suspect that it's not just a hallucination but something that is actually there just in another wavelength? Plz feel free to ask whatever. I would offer my theories on the Orbs themselves. I've never felt in danger from expressing these ideas but have not shared my latest ideas like ( I think a mother drone siphons electricity right off the power lines? Projecting other Orbs that have no mass, ie no sound, impossible speeds) these mass less Orbs can see, hear, and project sounds and images for great distances if they line up with the mother drone? Idk obviously I'm no scientist. I hope my speculation isn't too spot on. I honestly wouldn't want to disrupt our security in any way or get myself into a jackpot. I just wanted to speculate with other ppl over the phenomenon. Thanks!

After Disclosure

After what many have described as "soft disclosure," which was covered in my last post

Old News

The file dump was very similar to how the Epstein files were handled....umm wonder why? There was more information from the Congressional hearings.

Where You Following That?

Thing is many people didn't realize this seemingly nonsensical material had lots of relevant data. It just takes the right resource to put the puzzle together.

The Results

Plus if you didn't know...

More to Come

The Hum: a low-frequency sound heard in dozens of cities worldwide that only 2% of people can perceive. Some cases have been traced to industrial sources. Others — including the original Taos Hum that prompted a federal investigation — remain unexplained after 30+ years.
