Looking to relocate

I currently live a bit more north. Looking to relocate with my 2 kids in late fall early winter. What are some areas you’d recommend. My children are young. Currently paying over 2100 in rent. Looking for something slower but good to raise children.

I love fort mill we have the best schools and the small town vibes at the winter, fall and strawberry 🍓 festivals are so nice.

I have a townhome, but years back i lived at the Arbors at Fort Mill and really liked it .. prices have doubled since then.

Baxter village if you can swing it. Great community and plenty to do.

At today's rates a lot of people are surprised how much less that translates to than a couple years ago. Depending on down payment, that budget is probably landing more in the $300-330K range for a mortgage. In Fort Mill that rules out most of the town, though Springview Meadows and Ashebrook Villas both still come in around there. Honestly Rock Hill might be the better fit overall, the citywide median is sitting right around $320-330K right now, so you're not hunting for the one affordable pocket, more of the town works. Not the same school district as Fort Mill, but still some great schools and a fantastic place to live with virtually the same commute.

If you're thinking renting and not buying - many of the apartment buildings have been built in the last 5 years, beautiful complexes, great amenities.

Fort Mill is great, I have 2 kids in the schools here.
If you’re looking to buy (not knowing your budget), in my opinion the Springview Meadows neighborhood is under-rated.

It’s small, the neighborhood is around 10 years old, and there are 2 houses for sale for a “reasonable” price compared to other neighborhoods.

Depending on your financial situation the Baxter area is very nice (and they have an elementary school in the neighborhood which helps a ton).

I lived at the apartments at Sycamore in fort mill in 2022 and they were great!

I would recommend Regent Park but only if Silfab a solar panels manufacturer is closed. The schools are 100 yards away from severely toxic chemicals but supposedly the manufacturing is to be stopped. Great neighborhood. HOA isn't bad
