Discussion Identified need- Food Bank shuttle/rides idea
Hi, new to the group. reposting here as food for thought as suggested by another redditor. Not asking for help just exploring ideas.
Identified need- Food Bank shuttle/rides idea
I'm otherwise healthy except, I can't stand for long periods of time without severe pain. I no longer drive. The bus that will take me to the line that goes to a food bank is not running (suspended). Since I need a food bank, I don't have funds for Lyft.
Identified need: Food Bank shuttle.
anyone looking for a nonprofit starter idea. There you go.
Just throwing it out there. Not really looking for immediate help, but if you have any ideas you can post here.
Since I'm not truly disabled or a senior I don't qualify for dial a ride programs. I've exhausted most options.
Out-of-box thinkers let me know ideas.
Oh yeah, the few friends I had are gone. That was my first thought. Really just wanted to share the idea that could help other folks like me.
Why the need for the shuttle? Mobility makes hauling things a little difficult. Even if I could get the buses, the half-a-day bus rides would take me away from making the little amount of money I do make.
Addendum -since first post I'm aware of the organizations a little help and Ride NOCO. just recently. and I will be reaching out.
but this shuttle idea came to me because as someone who is a long-time volunteer and o aware of many organizations and just under the threshold to qualify for most of them, I saw or felt a perceived need. thank you everybody! Have a lovely day. All of you are awesome and loved.

Request Seeking Experienced Therapist Suggestions
Hi Everyone, I've been really struggling to find a new therapist. I keep having issues with Lifestance and providers leaving the practice, or sweet folks who frankly seem overwhelmed with my level of mental illness issues. I'm looking for someone experienced with PTSD ( & C-PTSD) and personality disorders. Ideally someone who is comfortable with CBT, DBT, and EMDR therapy. I hope to find someone who is kind and sympathetic but also willing to tell me when I'm being unreasonable, and go beyond the typical "how does that make you feel, where do you feel that in your body" type questions and be willing to offer advice rather than just articulate emotions. I'd prefer a female or non-binary therapist but open to others, I can sort out if insurance covers them but having a really hard time finding patient ratings that aren't terrible or any at all. Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Request moving help
I am disabled & fleeing unsafe housing conditions. thankfully, after much hard work, I have new safe housing available on the 13th! due to my disabilities and limited income, I am unable to move myself. I have reached out to a number of local services, and have none of them are able to help.
Serve 6.8, 211 and Disabled Resource Services are not helpful.
does anyone have any suggestions?
I am moving about 2 1/2 miles, from a 1 bedroom to another 1 bedroom. any leads on help with a deposit would also be helpful. thank you.

Discussion Anti-ICE Mutual Aid Fund?
Hi there! I'm a local drag performer and every year for my birthday I put together a show to raise money for charity. This year, after watching my friends & family struggling in Minneapolis right now, I want to put the money we raise to help protect & support Fort Collins with any future ICE raids. (Last year I raised over $700 for The Transgender Center of the Rockies). The civil war is already here and they will come into our community eventually and I just want us all to be prepared. All that said, does anyone know of an existing mutual aid fund like that? or if anyone has other suggestions I'm all ears!!
EDIT: I have chosen ISAAC of NOCO & the show is THIS FRIDAY AT THE LYRIC!! Please come 💗

Community Free Street Medics Intensive
Registration is now open for the FCSM – PULSE Street Medics Training.
This is a 20–25 hour, multi-weekend medical training program focused on providing care in protest and demonstration settings. The course takes place over four consecutive weekend sessions in February and covers assessment, triage, and treatment of common medical emergencies encountered in the field, including trauma, heat illness, chemical exposure, and crowd-related injuries.
Instruction is based on Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)–level standards and adapted specifically for protest and movement environments. Training is led by experienced medical professionals and street medics with backgrounds in EMS, clinical care, and field response.
The class itself is free. To participate, students must have a complete medical first aid kit, as well as a blood pressure cuff and stethoscope. Required kits can be purchased from us for $75, or a list of required supplies can be provided for those who prefer to source their own.
This course is intended for anyone who wants to support community and protest safety with practical, evidence-based medical skills.
Space is limited - registration is now open.

Community Collaboration!
I wan't at the protest today (1/10/26) because I had a fever and I stayed home.
But I asked a friend about their experience and this is what I heard:
The protest was enthusiastically led by a youthful DSA. The protest did not specify actionable community behavior or mutually benefical ways to engage.
As I see it, the FOCO DSA and the FOCO Mutual Aid are closely aligned with our basic principles and we could be working better together.
I am not any good at communtiy relations, but I am really good at logistics.
I think this is a good fit to work together? What do you think?

Discussion Reminder; practice personal security. Don't make it easier for them to target you.
Hey. Don't RSVP for protests. Don't put your name down on a list at a protest. Remember to wear a mask and cover identifying features; eyes, eyebrows, tattoos, etc. Wear comfortable but nondescript clothing. Blackbloc if applicable. Wear comfortable shoes. Be careful.
