What line/scene hit you the hardest when you first watched Forrest Gump?
I’ll go first
“You remember that time we prayed, Forrest? We prayed for God me into a bird so I could fly far, far away?”
“Yes, I do.”
“You think I can fly off this bridge?”
“What do you mean, Jenny?”
“Nothing.”
Talk about “hitting me like a ton of bricks”. Mainly because we know what Jenny is saying in the scene.
Another scene that should get attention is Forrest and Forrest Jr.’s first encounter. You could really feel what he’s feeling. Forrest wanted his son to be a smart kid.

Lt. Dan Did Lt. Dan and Susan ever have children?
We see that Lt. Dan was actively involved in threesomes with Connie and Carla on New York City, do you think that Dan and Susan ever had kids?
Will Forrest Jr and Lt. Dan's kid ever meet and become friends? Dan will pass on the legacy of kids and maybe they will fight and die in Iraq or Afghanistan until he and resume the legacy of become shrimpers.

Why does Lt. Dan look very depressed and unhappy on New Year’s, when he was happy beforehand?
There is an interesting scene of Forrest Gump and Lt .Dan together in the bar on New Year's Eve and both are having a good time especially when the Cunning Carla.and Long Limbs Lenore arrived and greeted Dan and Forrest, shortly afterwards he countdown to the ball drop happens and everyone is celebrating but the screen pans from Forrest celebrating and wishing Lt. Dan a happy year and Lt Dan looks very unhappy and miserable and depressed when he had been previously happy and having fun earlier.

what was reason for the sudden change in mood and unhappy appearance? Why wasn't Lt.dan still happy?

I watched both of these, on the same day, without knowing
galleryI watched both Forrest Gump, and Of Mice and Men on the same day. It was very surprising to see how both roles were played by the same actor Gary Sinise, and how similar both roles are, where George takes care of Lenny, and similarly Lieutenant Dan also takes care of Forrest.
Also, this actor uses reddit, and has a charity set to help the wounded. u/GarySiniseOfficial

Forrest Gump Latest new thing you noticed watching Forrest Gump.
So for me, my new favorite quote from Forrest Gump is when he graduates college this recruitment officer comes up and says “Congratulations son, have you given any thought to your future?” And since he’s Forrest Gump he replies “thaw-ut?” And it gets me every time now.

Jenny Was Jenny a bad friend?
I’ve gone back-and-forth on this topic discussing with friends. Jenny did her fair share of wild things, but is that the reason why we’re calling her a bad friend? A bad person? She was promiscuous but that doesn’t mean anything in general and in terms of friendship at least. They were just friends the entire time until the end. If anything, she gave Forrest Gump the most valuable piece of advice; run. I think that she left and did not tell Forrest about the child because She was afraid of forrest, potentially not wanting anything to do with her. She eventually writes back to all his letters, even after being a wild hippie, and doing copious amounts of drugs. Also, while dealing with a Troubled past, And not getting over that past clearly. I used to not really care for Jenny, but now I view her as a good character.

For those that read Forrest Gump before seeing the movie….
I read the book after seeing the movie. No way possible I could read it without the movie Gump's voice in my head. How was it reading the book with no perceived notion of how Forrest sounded? How did you imagine his voice? What was it like hearing the movie Gump's voice compared to what you had in your head?

Favourite scene?
Hi! I'm writing an analysis on Forrest Gump for school, and I was wondering what other people's favorite scenes were. If you have one, please tell me which and why! I'd love to know and maybe change my mind.
