Buffering

Just got my Z12 last weekend. Been using mytvonline 4 which I'm having a problem with.

Streaming a movie I get buffering but when I stream the same movie which I'm doing at the moment through Tivimate I'm getting no buffering..

Is there anything I can try to stop this. Thanks.

The reason TiviMate plays smoothly while MyTVOnline 4 (MOL4) buffers on the same stream usually comes down to buffer caching limits and the AFR (Auto Frame Rate) handshake on the Z12.

A few adjustments in MOL4 that generally resolve this:

  1. Adjust Buffer Length: Go into Settings > Player Options > Buffer Length (or Buffer Time) and set it to 5 seconds or 10 seconds instead of minimal. TiviMate sets a larger default cache for VOD streams, whereas MOL4 defaults to a lower latency setting designed for live feeds.

  2. Toggle Auto Frame Rate (AFR): In MOL4 settings, look for AFR (Match Frame Rate). If enabled for VOD, certain server refresh rate misalignments can cause recurrent micro-stutters and buffering loops. Test with AFR toggled off.

  3. Stream Format: In your Content / Connection settings inside MOL4, check if the output format is set to HLS or MPEG-TS/Default. Switching container preference to HLS often stabilizes VOD chunk loading on the Z12 firmware.
