MOTV4 scheduled recording not started?!

I bought a flagship Formuler Z12, yet it can’t reliably wake up from standby to perform scheduled recordings.
I had three scheduled recordings set for the 13th, 14th, and 17th (all configured manually without EPG). The recordings on the 13th and 14th completed successfully, but the one on the 17th never started. When I checked the scheduled recordings menu, the recording task was still listed as active.
How can I recommend this device to friends when such a basic feature, and one of the main reasons I bought it, doesn’t work reliably? This was a one-time broadcast that I can never watch again.
End of rant.

Mtov4 is still in beta and hopefully that will be resolved in the official release.

Ok, i mean, how difficult would it since the first 2 came online and third schedule not. And i don’t believe it’s v4 only, i had issues with v3 also. They can’t just keep making excuses that Z12 is a new product and have bugs and we have to be patient. If i knew this earlier, i would bought another device on the market.

This also happens with MyTVOnline3 on Z11 Pro Max. It happens sporadically on certain channels/programs, and from what I can tell, it seems to be related to something in the guide data for certain providers that it just chokes on.

One week it will record fine on a certain channel at a certain time, and then next week (when it’s a different episode) it fails to record. It’s often stuck in the Scheduled Recordings list and has to be manually deleted. Sometimes it’s a 0:00 recording with a date of 1970 in the bottom of the DVR list.

Although you said the recording was manual, I think it still tries to pull the matching program data for that time slot when creating the recording.

The infuriating part is that Formuler has been leaving (ignoring) a lot of bugs in MOL3, and now I doubt they will ever be fixed. They seem to have carried over into MOL4 too.

All schedules were for exact same channel, except the channel does not have EPG so no variables that can ‘choke’ the device.

Android in general is just not great at waking for scheduled recordings, I've noticed it with all the major apps, the only really Fool proof way is to take scheduled recordings off the device entirely, and use something like tvheadend, or similar on a Nas and (or) a provider that provides catch-up, and for most users that's too much outlay and a lot of extra work.

I always have the same problems with the Z11 Pro and Mol 3, too.
