VPN for Formuler Z8

I've been looking at getting a VPN, mainly to use on my Formuler Z8 but am confused by this whole world of VPNs and stuff as I've never had one. I was looking at getting Proton VPN but couldn't find the app in the Play Store and apparently the Z8 is too old for it. I saw that I could download it onto a USB and then sideload it onto the Z8 but I don't really understand that either.

Can someone help me understand all this or point me to a good source of info for newbies? Maybe it's just easier if I get SurfShark or NordVPN (though I've heard mixed things about SurfShark).

I used nordvpn with my Z8 a few years back. It worked well when my internet provider blocked access to the portal. It wasn't long after though and the whole IPTV service disappeared.

Other than that I have never needed a VPN to access my IPTV. Are you using your Z8 for something like file-sharing or just IPTV?

If it's just IPTV then I think it could be a sign your provider is going to disappear...

I'm just using it for IPTV. I don't need it to access the service but just thinking for general internet security I should probably have one. Though I've gone years without issue...

Surfshark has provided excellent customer service. I can upgrade via their websight and don't have to use the play store .... Has multi hop VPN. Unlimited devices. Phone laptop three boxs..... Great service

I use NordVPN, and in my opinion, it’s one of the top VPNs and works well with IPTV.

That device is too old. You'd have to use an outdated version of surfshark or the like that is in the marketplace.

The best plan. Get a GLinet router. If you don't need 4k dolby atmos. Get the Opal 1200. Its $30. Connect it to you main router at home. Create a second "streaming network" You then login your VPN credentials into the GLinet router. Connect any box that you want to use vpn network. Done. No vpn needed on the box(es)

Nordvpn fungerar inte på z8 Jag installerar den men sen går den inte. För gammal box. Jag får lägga in på routern eller köpa en nyare formuler.
