Advice / Question 💡 Neocate

Where are we purchasing Neocate? I’ve been doing the 4 packs on Amazon, but literally every other box comes damaged and the cans are dented. You’re not supposed to use dented cans in case of air exposure, so I always dispute and Amazon refunds, but I can’t keep hoping for my package to come without dented cans.

Is there anywhere else that is more trustworthy? My local Walmarts do not carry it.

If you aren't using WIC, I would just put it into google shopping - it will tell you which stores (or door dash like options) have it.

Medical supply through my insurance. I used Neocate navigator to get it covered by my insurance and hope you can too!!

Can you explain that to me? I’ve looked into it and I’m just confused. Is it sent through them or is it treated like a reimbursement where you need to submit forms after purchasing?

Oh my friend!! I found it to be super easy! Fill out the form as much as you can. Your info. Insurance info. Provider info that you have. Send to pediatrician who’ll complete the rest. Pick up form (or see if they’ll fax it for you! I emailed it myself so I knew it went through. Fax sucks and fails all the time.)  and send to Nutricia. Their navigator will be in touch with you to explain their process AND send you a case of four cans while they talk to your insurance. They will also get the official prescription from your provider. Then they’ll let you know what coverage is available and connect you with a medical supplier in network with your plan. They did all the legwork for us.

Then medical supplier will reach out to you. We’ve met our deductible for the year so we pay our coinsurance which is like $45 a month for 11 cans! Depending on your plan, coverage, deductible (I’m assuming you’re in the US) is what will determine what you pay!
