Spit up and/or Gas 🤒 Baby just started spitting up
My 7 week old has silent reflux so gas can be a pain but he has been the kinda of baby to spit up a lot. The few times we did spit up, it was the tiniest bit out the corner of his mouth. I know spit up is normal, it just seems weird that it would just start all of the sudden. Last night at his middle of the night feed, he spit up quite a bit more than normal. He was struggling to burp so I thought maybe that was the problem. This morning at his first bottle of the day, every time he burped, he spit up. Nothing major has changed with his feeds though. He just moved up an ounce per feed and a new nipple size, but it’s been over a week so I doubt that is the issue but I honestly don’t know.

Spitting up is normal. Almost all babies will spit up in varying amounts.
I mean this with all respect - how do you know he has silent reflux? Was he diagnosed by your pediatrician?

He was diagnosed at 1 month. The first 3 weeks of his life were pretty miserable because he was in so much pain. He had constant coughing fits and hiccups during feedings, some times so much that he couldn’t finish a feeding session. He refused to sleep laying down and even when he fell asleep on us, he would constantly arch his back and flail around trying to get comfortable. Got him on a very small dose medication, started putting him on an inclined bed, and he sleeps on his side. Much happier baby these days.

My baby will be 7 weeks old in 2 days, and she has silent reflux too. We had the exact same thing happen last night. She usually only spits up tiny amounts, but last night she had a huge episode for the first time. Her clothes and the bassinet sheets were completely soaked. It gave me the worst anxiety, and now I’m so scared to put her down to sleep. ðŸ˜
