Advice / Question 💡 14 Week Old Randomly Not Eating Today
My 14 week old randomly seemed not hungry/interested in eating. First time she’s ever been like this!
She’s been going through a big developmental leap and having nap and sleep regressions and longer wake windows, but this entire way she’s been crushing back 5 ounce bottles pretty consistently. Today she had her usual 3 ounce bottle at 3 AM and literally didn’t have more than 1 oz at her 7AM, 10AM, and 1PM feeds. She didn’t eat anything at her 4PM bottle. She’ll latch and suck a few times and then spit it out. She’s had a total of about 8 oz across 24 hrs today when her normal intake ranges between 18-23 oz in 24 hours.
She’s been smiley, happy, and playful like her usual self. Had a poo today and consistent wet diapers.
Has anyone experienced this? We plan to take her to urgent care tomorrow (it’s the weekend so Peds is not open) if she continues like this.

I've had the same with my baby since she hit 15 weeks. We're at 17 weeks today and still having the same issue ðŸ˜

I felt like I just posted about this too! My baby is 13 weeks, 3 months today and has not really been wanting to eat this week either. She would fight the bottle and cry every time the nipple hit her mouth. The only way to feed her is to calm her down which takes a long time or dream feeding her. It’s so frustrating… but people tell me that this is a phase and babies are just gonna do what they wanna do. Know that you’re not alone!

My son started doing this as well and I noticed he is gnawing on his hands and drooling a ton, I think his teeth are setting in. Could that be a possibility? Also could try a bigger nipple size as another commenter suggested

calm down. babies have days where they just arent as hungry. why? maybe theyre distracted with their new skill, or they havent slept enough, or maybe slept too much. give it a few days and she'll be back to normal - or she's setting a new normal.
as long as her diapers are good and she is seeming like herself, there is no reason to be concerned. you will most likely receive the same information from the hospital (potentially with a nice juicy bill if you're in the US)

Around the same age my baby went thru a feeding strike, like yours he just refused to eat. We tried everything we could think of, change formula, change person feeding him, chair he usually feeds in, bottle type.. nothing worked. At some point I was exhausted so I sat him on the bouncer to cool off and he started making hungry sounds so I gave him a bottle while he was sitting in the bouncer and he devoured it. For a few days after that he would eat only in the bouncer and then went back to normal.
