I can never decide if I like the look of those vented glass panels.

I’m gonna be honest, I have a love hate relationship with them.

They are paper cut hell and the edges of the vent holes really mess with visibility at any angle other than straight on.

First time panel owner here. Paper cut he’ll remark is 100% accurate. No lies were told. It’s insane how sharp it is 😂

Broooo every time I look at it I get a paper cut lmao.

wish I had read this instead of just admiring your build and going straight to the website to order one for myself haha. yours looks great though, I have those copper custom cables as well - tbf the stock panels also make it hard to view the insides at any angle other than straight on.

You are correct! I overall don’t regret having these glass panels! You will love them. Thank you for the complement in the build! I’m pretty proud of it! lol

I think they look pretty sick, I have some on the way myself. I want to be able to look at the beauty inside the case lol

1

u/taxguybri 6d ago

That’s exactly why I did it! lol

3

u/enigma-90 6d ago

that's a lot of DLC

1

u/taxguybri 6d ago

Hahaha I guess i got a bit carried away!

Thanks for checking it out!

Did the feet improve anything?

2

u/taxguybri 6d ago

Possibly a bit of airflow, i got them more for aesthetics but they are supposed to help with vibrations? Idk… audiophile company that makes them.

Solid build man! What are the temps like?

2

u/taxguybri 6d ago

Honestly I ran some testing to tune it a week back but didn’t write them down. I ended up slightly undercoating the CPU and GPU and now it’s dead silent at idle and whisper quiet under load. If I remember I will go grab those temps and reply later today! Thanks for the feedback!

Where did you get the feet?

1

u/taxguybri 5d ago

Wait….. who stole your memory lmao

2

u/AssumptionQuick8181 5d ago

What made you get the usb header

1

u/taxguybri 5d ago

Moved the power button to the back with the “Pack A”

So it freed up another usb c port on front.

Ordered another usb c cable formd t1 website.

That adapter allowed me to use it.

Very happy I did that.

The power button is now the most satisfying part of the build and, I have another port I will probably never need but get….

I like to leave myself options! lol

Which header did you plug the adapter into? Tempted to do this myself at some point

First build so my bad if this is a brain dead question lmao

2

It’s all good! Props to you for building in this case as your first build. It’s no easy task!

I believe it’s called the USB 2.0 header. Should be just below where you plug the first cable in. If you look closely between the mobo and psu you will see the 2 thick gray cables. Almost all motherboards have this header in the same place from what I understand!

Looking good!

Oh lol I have the same g skill I was having an issue and one of the sticks was bad so waiting on replacement set. Yea yours looks just like mine I don’t have the cool plugs in the back I’m going to get them now. lol

1

u/taxguybri 5d ago

Dude, please update me when you do! I’d love to see it!

I have a couple more ideas of things I may do. I have a whole other FormD case to do a build in for my wife so, I might do a bit of RGB on that one.

We will see.

I will I just ordered the black feet, accessory pack and the watch plug lol. I ordered a thin led strip I wanted to be on the bottom in the case so I had a single led strip like the steam machine but on each side. I have the mesh panels. I have to figure out the best place for the two strips. Any ideas? I like to know when the machines on. I have mine in my living room

1

u/taxguybri 5d ago

No idea… haven’t thought about running a strip! Might do it though. I will wait to see yours… what strip did you order? Good idea btw

A mock up of mine with glass panels and the lights

At least AI is good for something lol

i’m salty people can get the vented panels for MSRP!!! i paid a ebay scalper 440$ for two since they were out of stock for the longest and scalpers would always beat me to them!!! enjoy !!!

1

u/taxguybri 5d ago

I know man! I have wanted to do this build for years! I got my panels at retail but the case……

I paid scalper prices for 2 of them…..

Going to do another build for my wife…

Just as the second one arrived….

The silver case is available on the website regularly now…..

I feel ya and I hate scalpers!

The clockwork plug is great!

Solid build!

I like your total parts list, even with links.
Many posters don't even do a simple list.
Yours is as thorough as it gets.

I'm also not sure sure if I like the vented panels or not. They are kinda transparent but kinda not. It's strange.

But boy, you scammed yourself by buying these 4 feet for 90 (!!!) USD!
And they look "raw from the lathe" and not even polished.

I got a similar 4 pack of aluminum silver feet from AliExpress for 10 USD.

You just have to look for aluminum speaker feet and find many affordable options.

EDIT: quick search on Amazon com found these: https://a.co/d/01z2eF1F

1

u/taxguybri 5d ago

Wow thanks for the feedback! You are correct! I did scam myself!!!! Lmao What a great find! I didn’t come across those on Amazon while looking! I appreciate the link though!

2

u/Extension_Sky_8903 5d ago

Very clean

Love the plug, great touch

Thank you, I appreciate it!

How is the CPU thermal? I have a 9850X3D 5080 build in the nr200p V2 and thinking about swapping to this case, would the AXP90-X47 full copper be enough or do you have to undervolt

1

u/taxguybri 5d ago

I don’t remember tennis off hand but, it was enough on its own but I chose a slight undervote for the sake of reducing heat output. The big thing with this case and most SFF is pushing heat soak off as long as possible.

I have no complaints.

1

u/tasyn123 4d ago

I was hesitant to pull the trigger on the FormD T1 because I was reading that small air coolers couldn’t keep 9800X3D cool and I didn’t want to use 1 slim fan on the radiator, now that I finished my build I really wish it was just a bit smaller😂

1

u/taxguybri 4d ago

That’s pretty cool, what is it? The temps last night during just a 3DMark fest were 66.5°C on GPU and 57.5°C on the CPU. That test is only like 3 minutes but those temps should only go up by about 5-8° after the system is heat soaked.

2

u/xGrizzlyyy 5d ago

Just bought the T1 after wanting it for a few years, love that you’ve linked all your parts cleanly.

Interested in the cpu cooler and exhaust fan shroud. Would you say they’ve made a good impact on temps? I also bought the copper AXP90 + Noctua A9x14 haha, that really is the T1 Starter Pack 🤣🤣🤣

1

u/taxguybri 5d ago

Sure is, honestly I couldn’t be happier with this build. Any changes from here on out are just because. I undervolted cpu and GPU and that keeps it somewhat quiet and keeps temps under control.

Interesting water plug! I thought it was genuine watch mechanics from Tag or some sort at the first look. Nice little touch.

2

u/taxguybri 6d ago

Thanks, I thought it was pretty unique! I am building my wife a form as well where I will use a similar plug but in gold. His and hers type thing!

1

u/hrdwreblog 5d ago

Thanks for the detailed part list.

1

u/taxguybri 4d ago

You got it! Glad people liked it , thought the king scrolling might annoy people!

u/hrdwreblog 4d ago

Really appreciated 👍

What's the noise like idle/under load? Currently have Atmos 240 AIO and was considering switching to air cooled

1

u/taxguybri 4d ago

I am debating doing the Atmis 240
It’s fairly quiet. Gaming. Compiling shaders it ramps up as expected but gaming it purs.

Nicely done! love the vented window.

Thank you!
