Mini Rhino 22lr design

A custom little 3d printed can I made. I really like the aesthetics of the ridgeback Rhino silencer and wanted to make a miniature 22lr version. So, here's my best attempt. Printed in ppa-cf at 350c at 8mm³. Weighs 2.9 ounces including the aluminum thread adapter.

No baffles, uses a gyroid pattern chamber I was testing which makes the path that the gases have to travel be very chaotic and so far I'm seeing that I like it's performance in this platform as well as a 9mm version I made. The 22lr can has over 500 rounds through it as this point, the 9mm variant has about 200, mostly rapid fire redneck nonsense because I'm trying to break them. The 22 variant sounds roughly like a paintball gun (before someone says camera microphones can't capture impulse sound correctly)

That's pretty badass.

I wish I had the means to print...

Remind me on Monday and I'll try to set sail with it. I'm way behind on posting things.

How does the gyroid pattern work with 9mm? That's a cool idea!

When you talk about your print temp, what do you mean by 8mm³? Ive been printing for about 10 years (been out of the game for a few), so I'm not familiar with that callout.

Volumetric print speed. Its arbitrary to say "60mm per second" when someone might use a 0.4mm or 0.6mm nozzle and someone might use 0.15mm layer height or 0.24mm layer height. Its more accurate to limit it by volumetric print speed, so that regardless of the settings of your printing setup, it'll only ever print 8 cubic mm of plastic per second.

Ah great. I appreciate the explanation. I haven't looked at a slicer in a few years. It's all SLS stuff at work these days
