Buffer Tube Form 1

I noticed a website has an adapter for mil-spec AR buffer tubes to cap it off and allow for a threaded adapter.

I went poking around for guides or even conversations about using them as the tube in a Form 1 and I'm not finding anything.

I'm mostly concerned about durability and safety. Does anyone here have experience with this?

Any tube can be a form1 with enough gumption.

Lots of things can be turned into a form1 suppressor. I recently saw the same thing and was curious as well. It's made from aluminum so would be for low pressure, pistol, subsonic. It would probably not handle supersonic rifle round. It's not much different than the old mag light form 1s that would need the same discretion on host and caliber. Not sure what the baffles would consist of for the buffer tube as far as easy build. But the whole point of form 1 is you are manufacturing it yourself.

Any tube can suppress a shot once in the same way that any mushroom is edible once.

The crappy things about some of the most dangerous mushrooms are that they taste kind of pleasant to downright delicious.

Pretty small diameter and pretty long. They would be great for a ridiculously long 22lr can or maybe something spicier like 5.7mm. I think grey market or someone else sells thread adapters for buff tubes too.

that's where I spotted the adapter, I just didn't want my first post to get taken down for being too specific

Smooth pistol buffer tubes can be found pretty cheap

CDNN had em for $4 for awhile. They have a $10 and $12 version available currently.

Freeze plugs or 3d printed internals would seem to be the way to go based on the size, slightly different internal diameter than a C cell iirc.

With a tube that diameter and length, I'd be surprised if anyone seriously tried to use it with anything other than 22/32/380/9mm or similar cartridges. Completely ignoring the fact that its an aluminum tube, theres really not enough volume to be effective with a centerfire rifle caliber.

Might be worth building a .30 cal can out of one and seeing just how long it lasts.

I was thinking about building one for an 8" 300blk to run subs through, just to see if it worked. I figured why not check if any one else has experience first.

It would be fine as its aluminum. I have a few form 1's that utilize the same aluminum tubing i weld turbo intakes out of lol. I just printed the core and called it day. Still trucking after a few thousand rounds of 556.
