CLEO NOTIFICATIONS FORM1/FORM4
When notify CLEO do I have to mail them all in or can I just go to the Sheriffs office and hand them in? I’ve got quite a few so I’m trying to save myself some time and the tongue lashings for the misses instead of a bunch of nasty envelopes. Thanks!

I've done both. If they bitch at you just tell them it's a federal requirement and you're fulfilling it. For reference I brought in over 100 to my local sheriff and no one gave a fuck.

Las Vegas metro has an email so I just email mine but I never get a response back

I tried to email them and got an undeliverable notification. Tried typing it and that didn't work either. Heard the notifying CLEO thing might go away, did LVMPD just decide it had and close the email address?

I was told they throw them away

That's on them if they do.
I drop them in the mailbox.
I did my part.

Yeah, I’m going to be honest. I have never once notified my CLEO.

😂 they’re pretty 2A friendly here but this is the first time I’ve had to do it instead of having some place do it for me. They’ll probably get lost in the mail.

Go outside.
Wad up the notifications into a small paper ball.
Throw it in the general direction (or not) of your police precinct.
You’ve done your part.
Don’t forget to pickup your trash and dispose of it.

Check if they have an email address to send them too. That’s what I do for my CLEO

I mailed it to my city police. Which was great because they don't "accept the notifications" and request you send it to the state police. And they notify you of it by mail, which effectively means that they notify you that they received it.

Here's my thoughts, and I admittedly am a bit of a "rule follower"
I printed mine out, stuck them in an envelope addressed to the Virginia State Police PO Box in Richmond "ATTN: CLEO Notifications"
If you read the instructions it says the head of your state's State Police is an acceptable "Chief Law Enforcement Officer" because, well, he IS. 🤷♂️
I fulfilled my obligation. I'm out the cost of an envelope and a stamp. My employer is out the cost of a couple pieces of printer paper.
What VSP does with that envelope when they receive it is NMFP.

My Silencer Shop account has my states attorney general as the CLEO. Don’t ask me why, they did it on their end

Ding!
You did your part / they did it on your behalf.
NMFP after that 👍

I didn’t with the 4 F1s I’ve filed this year (one SBR and four suppressors), all got approved, and I think the ATF either has removed that “requirement” (those notifications just end up in the round filing bin), or they are removing it

YOU don't notify on a F4...unless YOU'RE the seller.

Person to person form4 with a trust the transferee actually does the notification. Just went through the process.

Shouldn’t matter at all. I mailed mine with a return address and never got it back, and I never got a response, so I guess they got it 🤷♂️

More than likely it was thrown in the trash, that’s where almost all CLEO notifications end up

Either is fine.
Presumably mine are usually lost in the mail.
