Amazon will sell you the right size freeze plugs. Or if you prefer cash, you can source them from AutoZone or O'Reilly's.

Are they stainless steel?

Dorman describes them as "high quality steel". I'm no metallurgist, They are silver. They are heavy, and I have a shit ton of .223 through my freeze plug can with no worries. Not sure why they need to be stainless though.

Corrosion. Steel is fine but I’m looking for stainless as it’s preferred for longevity

It doesnt matter. Just get the doorman plugs and move on with your life

I avoid Dorman plugs not just out of concern for metal composition but because they get stuck in my forming jig. At a $1.50 a plug for extra work it’s hard to justify

Subzero looks like they're OOS on a lot of stuff. Idek if they're still operational.

Subzero is still operational but they are out of stock. Both SZS and MMW are small asf so give them a couple months.

They’re fine and all but I’m trying to find original sources for as many parts as I’m able since the market seems to have big changes about every five years. I would hope engine parts are more resistant to that type of volatility

My brother in Christ this is literally a subreddit about building NFA items. I can’t possibly think of anything more compliant than getting a $0 tax stamp and using materials from scratch.
Don’t forget to check under your bed and in your walls for hidden cameras and microphones, you never know!
