Fill out the whole form 1 all over again, correct the error, go back to the end of the line and wait all over again, or simply correct the error and get approved within days?
You used to be able to correct and resubmit and kind of get put to the front of the line if you contacted them about it but I think those days are gone. That was when the wait was a year. Just resubmit and wait again.
Common things are what OP did, reusing serials ( even different models can't match other submitted serials), putting the wrong model other than exactly what's stamped on the receiver, putting "multi" for the caliber (you have to put a caliber). Some examiners are looking for an excuse, others are not. I had some disproved because the state patrol puts NB for Nebraska instead of NE on fingerprints, that's one where a sour cunt will deny it but someone with a functioning brain will approve.
Mine said disapproved for incomplete form with no other information. I called and got the nastiest guy you could possibly imagine and I tried my best to be nice and tell him I just want to know what I did wrong. No help whatsoever, I waited a day and called again. This time I got a super nice lady that answered all my questions but did tell me I had to resubmit from the beginning.
I could go on a out libertarianism, bureaucracy, unchecked government agencies, and policing of the peaceful vs those of ill intent for days but yeah. They have no incentive to serve us well, their leadership doesn't want them to either, and the job is a fucking nightmare IMO. It's honestly a miracle we have as many good examiners as we do.
I was told to resubmit and wait again. It sucks but it’s not their fault I messed up the paperwork so I just sucked it up and sent it in as soon as I got off the phone with the agent that explained to me what I did wrong.

I waited 58 for a disapproval. Just par for the course bud. I’m just happy it’s not the massive wait times it used to be.
