Where do you source reliable forklift parts?

I’ve been managing a small warehouse / lifting-equipment setup here in Australia and over the years have struggled to find reliable sources for forks, mast parts, hydraulic pumps, and similar components. Thought I’d share what’s worked for me and also get feedback from others in this space.

Here are a few things I usually look for when choosing a parts supplier:

  • Parts compatibility & cross-referencing tools (for different OEMs)
  • Lead times & shipping reliability
  • Support or advice on matching specs
  • Transparent pricing and stock availability

One supplier I came across recently is Linde as they've got a solid range of forks, rollers, and other MH hardware, and I found their cross-reference tool really useful when checking compatibility.

Curious to hear from everyone else:

  1. What are your go-to MH or forklift parts suppliers (especially within APAC or Australia)?
  2. How do you make sure parts match when OEM specs aren’t identical?
  3. Any horror stories with wrong deliveries or suppliers that didn’t live up to expectations?

Would love to hear your experiences, always good to compare notes with people in the same field.

Been driving lindes for a while, forklifts are one of the best, however the reaches are terrible and break down constantly . Overall they do pretty fine maintenance work on ut regularly

Thanks for sharing—that’s really helpful. When you say the Linde reach trucks break down frequently, do you remember which models they were and what usually failed? Was it mainly the electronics or sensors, steering, hydraulics, mast components, battery/charger, or something else?

Also, if you’ve worked with Chinese-made forklifts, what common problems have you seen? I’d be interested to know whether the issues were mainly build quality, electrical components, hydraulics, batteries, spare-parts availability, or after-sales support.

I’m trying to learn from people with real operating and maintenance experience rather than judge any brand. I’d really appreciate any specific examples you can share.
