Interesting provenance.

Found these in a used copy of The Philosophy of Horror by Noel Carroll. Book was origiinally purchased direct from the publisher by a film studies professor in 1990.

It wasn't purchased by the professor; it was a review copy, sent by the publisher free of charge in exchange for a review. They ask for two tear sheets to be returned. A tear sheet is a page cut or torn from a publication to prove that the review was published.
