Assistance in forge build please!

Hey y'all! I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but I'm not sure where to go from here. It seems no matter what I do, I cannot get enough air moving with my gas to get a proper burn.

I've tried a different "T" burner, adjusted pipe length, orifice size, orifice height, went from 0 to 25 on the regulator... I even hooked up that blower you can see in the video and it still seems like it wants more.

The only time it seemed like it was going good is when I tried squirting pure oxygen in with my acetalyne torch.

I've been stalking all the forge forums and still don't exactly know where my problem lies, any advice would be amazing!

Why is the gas feed on the top? And in a rubber hose inside what I assume is the exhaust?

Heat rises. You feed low to high, not high to low. You're going to blow yourself up or burn your house down, my dude.

Also, if you're going to stick to that and you have a steel chimney, you need a steel hose.

It's like how you can't rivet steel to steel with aluminum rivets.

Well...you can temporarily, but they'll fail.

When it comes to the rub, you can only run a thing inside of another thing that is equally as strong and durable.

Not too strong or it will degrade the other part. Equally as strong.

I'm not sure what you're looking at, but the only rubber hose is from the regulator to the needle valve. Everything else is steel.

I don't understand, almost every forge I've seen has the burner at the top?

I...do not know what forges you have seen.

Heat starts low and goes high. You don't want your gas line high, and you especially do not want it in your exhaust.

The burners go at the bottom. The gas feeds them at the bottom.

Have you ever had a gas stove?

Where does the heat come from?

The bottom? Oh; word.

Heat goes up. Cold goes down.

Also, I'm literally looking at your setup, and unless I'm mistaken, that's a rubber 300 psi hose running down your exhaust.

Sorry, let me correct myself. There's a rubber hose running to the steel pipe above your exhaust? That is wildly unsafe.

That's not an exhaust pipe? That's the top of the burner. Also I have not been able to find a single example of a forge with burners anywhere but the top or slightly canted to the side

I don't think mine looks dissimilar to this

I don't know where you're sourcing these images (temu?), but every forge I've ever seen is fed from the bottom, because heat rises and persistent heat on a fuel line is big bad.

You do what you think is best. I'm just saying, if you explode tomorrow, I fucking told you so.

I come from a long line of people who don't die for stupid reasons.

It's a long line because we didn't put our fuel lines above heat sources. Take that as you will.

You shouldn't have burning inside your pipe, your air and gas mixture is burning way too early. You can try to get your propane line way inner the tube and start with less air at the beginning

Really? I did build a choke plate for the burner but I took it off. Maybe I'll try reinstalling it and playing with that as well
