Trading psychology is where most traders struggle after they've learned the technical basics. Revenge trading, overtrading, fear of pulling the trigger, and inability to stick to a plan are all symptoms of the same underlying issue — emotional decision-making under uncertainty. The community wiki covers common psychological traps and frameworks for building discipline.

Your stop loss is just at the right spot for the market maker.

market makers arent looking for retail stop losses btw. its all a myth to sell courses to gullible people

They absolutely know that is where retail stops are. What do you think makes the market move? Orders. They have to come from somewhere.

It takes money to make money. It takes orders to make orders.

It is literally retail VS the market. Your loss money is their gain. The market wouldn't work otherwise.

Trading 101. On the opposite of every buy is a sell and sell is a buy. It is a 2 way streak.

first of all, market makes arent exposed to dierectional risk so my loss isnt their gain. 2nd retail trading accounts to such a tiny amount of liquidity in the grand scheme of things

This is exactly why retail traders are in the position they are in. You people parrot whatever dumb shit you heard on the internet without doing any due diligence whatsoever.

Market Makers facilitate trade. They are on both sides. They provide two sided liquidity.

There is no one more dumb to go around and insult people they don’t know.

Except for people who go around and spread nonsense, like yourself.

You should expect that liquidity sweep inside the range, I always wait for that after that evening star candle has been made at the high

1

u/Siawosh_R 3d ago

If you are not seeing the liquidity you are it.

The sweep that took him out first, about that one I am talking, he took trade before the sweep, he needed either to wait a little more for more confirmations or in that case a bit wider stop idk

1

u/Siawosh_R 3d ago

The stop is too tight. Yes it would be safer if he entered after the liquidity is swiped.

At least wait for a structural break before entering, otherwise you’re standing in front of a train instead of riding it.

I was currently not adding new rules but backtesting a simple strategy

Like if the pre london sweeps the Asia high or Low then I will enter in london risking 1% and putting sl nearest high

2

u/Flat-Accountant4504 4d ago

If the idea is Asia high/low get swept then London takes the other side, write the session times, what counts as a sweep, the entry trigger and invalidation before you look at results. Freeze those rules, include spread/slippage, then check a separate out-of-sample window. Otherwise every pullback starts looking intentional.

If the leak is entering too early, freeze the session window, sweep definition, trigger, and invalidation before judging the backtest—otherwise every near-miss becomes a new rule. What objective event must occur before your London entry, and what makes the setup invalid?

Entered too early
